No coffee maker in the room; continental breakfast has stale, old baked goods and dixie cup sized styrofoam coffee cups; sandpapery tissue (Kleenex) uncomfortable (hard) mattress and overstuffed, uncomfortable pillows you can hear the people above you walking around their room; outdated furnishings; no HBO or on demand. I had an oceanview room and I didn't hear the freeway noise,... more

We stayed in one of the ocean view rooms. It was difficult for me to imagine we would be able to see much of the ocean from the photos we saw on the interenet. But I was very surprised when we arrived. This was the largest room we've ever stayed in (we stay in 12-15 different hotel/motels each year). The... more

I was concerned after reading this sites reviews, other sites were not rated as bad. I will stay here again hands down. The room was always clean, fresh linens, beds made, large rooms, clean pool, accommodating staff. We had been staying in hotels for a week prior to this, and they had the best beds - firm but cushioney. The... more

We travel a lot and this is the worst hotel we have stayed at. We understand what to expect for a certain price and do not over expect what we pay for. However, this place was not worth staying at any price. It was dirty and littered outside. The paint was peeling on the outside walls. Some screens on the... more

Stayed three nights over Thanksgiving holiday. My nose & sinuses are extremely sensitive to smoke and unpleasant odors, and I didn't have any problem. No mold in our room - I would have noticed! Check-in was easy & quick. Front desk was pleasant & well informed about the area. The room was HUGE although the doorway to the bathroom was... more

The entire place smells like mold. The front desk tries to disguise it by drowning the place in bleach, but you can still smell it. You can even see the mold in the rooms!!! Its a decent motel if you are just driving through, but you might as well book a motel 6/motel 8 type room and pay half as... more

We stayed eight awful nights.... The room and pool area smelled awful (like mildew). The carpet and bathroom floor were filthy (socks were black after walking on it). We found a cockroach outside our door. The bathtub had standing water, and the drain had a bunch of "stuff" clogged in it which we had to remove. As for ammenities: The... more

came to spend a couple of days to get away. The view from my room was the 5 freeway. Room was clean, had a patio to sit outside with a table and chairs. I dont see how they say you can walk to the pier it is a ways away. Driving is a much better choice. You can see the... more

I always stay at the Guesthouse Inn when I visit Oceanside, usually about 4 times per year. The oceanview rooms at the rear of the hotel are spacious, with a beautiful view of the Pacific and the Oceanside harbor. The hotel is a five minute drive to downtown, the harbor, and Camp Pendleton. The staff is friendly, the rooms are... more
