We had wanted to stay in Chico, but there was not one room available in town for the night - so we ended up in Oroville, about 25 minutes away. And while this was not the worst place I've ever stayed, it certainly runs a close second. The room smelled clean enough, but looking too closely was something I quickly regretted. It appeared that the floor had not been vacuumed in quite some time. The shower curtain was badly mildewed. For some bizarre reason, there was duct tape all over the floor in the tiny, dark shower stall - which I suppose drew attention away from the black mildew in the grout. When turning down the sheets, I was disturbed to find that the bedspread had what appeared to be blood on the underneath side. These were not stains - they were obviously on top of the fabric. In addition, we were disgusted to discover that the motel allows pets in the rooms.
