It'd been a long winter for us on the east coast. The economy presented us with some real pressures this year, so, when we started thinking about the possibility of having a brief vacation, well, we put a lot of thought into it. We've been to Palm Springs a few times and thought we had a fair handle on the... More

It is clear to see that the owners are putting every dollar they make into re-habing this old Palm Springs era building. I stayed in one of the renovated rooms, an it was just as nice as any other Gay resort in town. I might only suggest better window coverings, especially on the side that faces am empty lot next... Thank you for a great review. I just want to correct two things: The LCD televisions in each room have built in DVD players. We provide bottled water and soft drinks for all of our guests at no charge, and they are in the refrigerator in the office. More

The best I can say about this placeis that the rooms are newly renovated and clean. However, it's the little things that will begin to bug you, a king size bed in a tiny room, so tiny that you can't have a chest of drawers in the room or a place to store your luggage. There's very little light in... More

We have been renovating the hotel over the past two years, and have concentrated on the rooms, altyhough we have done some exterior work. Since our rooms are small, we took a lot into consideration when buying new furniture and renovating the rooms. We tore out the old closets and put in closet organizers that have 8-10 shelves in addition... More

We stayed at the Desert Bear for the first time this week. We had a great time unlike many of the gay resorts the guests staying at the Desert Bear all welcomed us when we checked in. The rooms have been remodeled and the hosts Paul & Denny are really great. They helped us find a great restaurant to celebrate... More

Again Paul and Denny went out of their way to make my trip interesting and total relaxiation! Of course I always head out too Blame it on Midnight and Shame on the Moon for dinner. Laying out by the pool and getting a deep tan is what I enjoy the most. My room was cleaned as I requested, all it... More

Stayed there for Bears in the Desert weekend. Paul and Denny go out of their way to make you feel more like friends than simple guests. The room was clean and nicely done... simple but done well. A small property, but that is part of the charm compared to visits to some of the other resorts nearby that same weekend.... More

As a man of color, mid 50's and stocky in statue, I was a little apprehensive about visiting any resort in Palm Springs. When I ran across the Desert Bear Resort and spoke with the hosts, I knew immediately this is where I needed to relax on my vacation. Not only did Paul and Denny open their home and their... More

I needed a getaway on short notice and Paul was good enough to handle it for me! I arrived and ended up in one of the new redone rooms. My flight arrived at 11:00 am and I was able to check in early! The bathrooms are great and new, new carpeting and nice closet area. It just feels good to... More

What a great vacation! From the minute we set foot on the property we felt comfortable. Paul any Denny are great guys, gave us a tour of the property, made sure all of our requests we fulfilled. The renovated rooms look great, most have been completed to date. They are working furiously to make further upgrades, even to the exterior.... More

This wonderful place afforded me some quiet time I so needed. The hosts were more than available to help me in any need or question I had. From the compound itself to what seems like the great and friendly guys that are regulars, I will surely return. Thanks again Paul and Denny. - terence More
