I've stayed at several P.S. gay resorts over the last 8 years. From upscale places to skanky pits and everything in-between. Canyon club in my opinion is solidly in the middle. I'm not sure why the gay resorts in Palm Springs continue to get away with charging such ridiculous rates -- $150 and up a night for trashy rooms, absent service, and sketchy properties? WTF? Having stayed several times previously at this hotel I am happy to report the hotel has been substantially improved, particularly with respect to housekeeping. It ain't the Four Seasons but it's nice to see the mildew in the shower is finally gone. The hotel has hired a housekeeper who does a nice job cleaning the rooms every day; much better... more

Recently we attended a weekend event hosted at the Canyon Club Resort in Palm Springs. Unlike some of the other gay resorts in that town, this one was excellent and accommodating without the usual attitude that is so pervasive in other gay-owned resorts. We LOVE this hotel! Upon our return, they had finished renovating the hotel. They had also just opened a new nature area complete with koi pond and simply stunning views of the mountrains. As the previous reviewer noted, Canyon Club Hotel has a somewhat contradictory nature. It has tons of potential, but has a ways to go before that potential is realized. The prior review was unfair. Sure the rooms aren't five star, but they're adequate for the price and the pool and grounds are great. Isn't that why we go to Palm Springs - to hang out in the sun?
