This is our 4th visit to Abalone Inn. We came this time to experience Pt Reyes in the winter. We joined the community for an old-fashioned holiday celebration in Pt Reyes Station, complete with tree-lighting, caroling, and Santa. We were overwhelmed with good cheer during our stay at Abalone Inn. Our lovely innkeeper, Dona, is the epitome of a gracious... more

My husband and I stayed at the Abalone Inn for 2 nights so that we would have a 'home base' from which to hike in Pt. Reyes. The Inn served our needs perfectly. It was like a 'home away from home'. We had long chats with Donna, our hostess, over coffee in the mornings. She had numerous suggestions for mini... more

We stayed in the back room and it was so incredibly small. Besides the bed, there was only 3 ft or so of walking space around the bed or may be even less. The owner was very nice but we felt like unwelcomed guests. Not sure why. Could be because there seemed to be so many "don't do" in the... more

We found the Abalone Inn by accident while looking for a place to stay while exploring the Point Reyes area, but our stay at the Inn became one of the most memorable experiences of the whole trip! The whole place has been lovingly restored by the owners and each room has a distinctive personality. What we liked best was the... more

This was our second visit and we enjoyed it as much as we did the first time. Donna is welcoming and friendly, the house is charming and comfortable with some of the quirks of an older house to be sure - but if we wanted to stay at a Best Western, we would have! The breakfasts are tasty, fresh and... more

My boyfriend and I returned from our 5 year anniversary trip to Pt. Reyes yesterday and we still feel like we are floating on cloud nine! We stayed in the "Attic Suite" at the Abalone Inn and experienced a large room that was warm and cozy. We were able to make ourselves dinner just like we would at home (aside... more

We stayed in the very spacious second floor room. The room was very cozy, the bed very comfortable, and we were very pleased with the room itself. We found it strange that there weren't any drawers or closets to place any of our clothes and had to live out of the suitecase and hang our dress and suite on the... more

Just got back after 8 days spent at Abalone Inn. Beautiful music when you walk in, lovely room, delicious organic breakfast (don't miss the homemade plum jam, while it lasts, and the eggs come from the chickens in the back yard), daisies everywhere, you can see the stars from the chairs in the garden, soothing hot tub, and on and... more

i am sitting in the upstairs suite of the Abalone Inn. My family and I arrived yesterday after a long day exploring Muir Woods and the beaches north. The Inn keeper (i think her name is Donna, but she never introduced herself), had requested we arrive by 4pm, however we were an hour later than that and she apparently decided... more

Donna the Inn Keeper and owner welcomed us with tea and we had a wonderful stay. It's so pretty, peaceful, and quiet...we stayed in the loft suite...very romantic. We walked the gardens...fed the chickens, enjoyed the jacuzzi, just had a ball. I own two vacation rentals in Tahoe and will recommend this Inn to all of my guests going to... more
