If it weren't for the friendly staff, I would give this a one out of five star rating. The building was under a lot of construction and really should have been closed for this. The first floor was musty, the room we were in was dusty and looked like it hadn't been occupied in weeks and thus felt and smelled... more

I recently stayed at the Capitol City Hotel in Sacramento. They offered a stay one night, get the 3rd night free. We checked in and were told that the onsite restaurant had just been closed for remodeling but the bar was open. Stayed here for business purposes. Seemed like it was OK for the price until the bill arrived. Hotel charged my credit card $238 for a one night stay when the rate was quoted at $59 plus tax. Staff at hotel was great! Hotel under renovations (posted in Lobby). Room was clean and well worth the price. Attended meeting at hotel - remodeling was taking place. Great Location! more
