I read the bad reviews of this hotel only after my fiancee had already booked it. We were extremely concerned, since a lot of the complaints were about the lack of air conditioning, and we were staying in Sacramento in the dead of summer. Once I arrived, the only thing I could think was that either the hotel had gone... more

Had a chance to stay there for three nights this past week (June 18-20). Was a little leery based upon the reviews but decided to try it because of a late booking for a conference. The hotel is very dated but clean. Regarding the previous complaints about the AC, I had no problem controlling it although it did take about... more

I sure wish I had read the TripAdvisor reviews first. What a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT! My room was completely run down. The first thing I had to do was fix the toilet because it had been running since who knows when. They advertise "we proudly brew Starbucks"...but not in the rooms! A homeless guy was changing his clothes outside my room.... more

This "hotel" is a complete disgrace. The thermostate is an illusion. The only thing you really have control over is the fan. They control the AC and Heat from the desk. I went to bed running the AC and woke up at 2:30am in a pool of my own sweat, had to be something like 95 degees in the room.... more

This is an older hotel with a lot of history in Sacramento, It's across the street from the original Governor's Massion and in walking distance to the Capitol. So if you like history and would like to stay somewhere real, clean and safe, this is a great place. I came with a group of friends for a conference and we... more

This is a tired hotel with a good location. Someone needs to invest some $$$ in this place! As other reviewers have pointed out, the property is getting run down. Beds were cheap; lampshades were beat up and had bulbs missing; bathroom had chipped paint and huge chunks of grout missing. Sound proofing is a problem. Basically just an old... more

Very dissappointing. Rooms are rundown and dank. Zero attention to detail. Missing lighbulbs in lamps in room, out of date TV guide card, hole in ceiling where fixture used to be, hallways dark and stuffy. I had to flip my mattress because it was so worn and dented on one side where a million people had slept. Towels were cheap... more

My Wife and I booked this hotel because of its proximity to the Sacremento Convention Center. She was prepared to take the California Accuppuncture Board Exam the next morning at the Convention center which as you can imagine is a highly stressfull event for any graduate student. When we arrived, the hotel was full to the rafters with other students... more

Air Conditioning could not keep up with the heat wave - first room had ant infestation - layouts of rooms not consistent. Pool is shared w/Holiday Inn Express next door & not big enough to enjoy with so many people using it. Restaurant was not good - service was extremely poor. No A/C during heat wave & horderves were only... more

I stayed here for the first time five years ago and recently returned on business. The hotel has really been run down. I was surprised to hear that they had recently renovated. The rooms look good as does the check in area. However the hallways are really dingy and the common areas leave a lot to be desired. The location... more
