The hotel has been recently remodeled and my room was clean and well appointed. I'm not certain about break-ins - but the CHP is always in the neighborhood. The front-desk staff could not have been nicer and the location was very convenient to I-80. The guest rooms needed maintenance (paint, trim replacement, bathtub fixture reinforcement etc.) and the advertised guest room "refurbishing" looks like it was done somewhat "on the cheap".
