Stayed here one night mid week because a conference was booked nearby. It was relatively quiet, especially since it’s right next to Hwy 80 (my room was on the backside of the hotel). The staff was nice and friendly. Unfortunately the hotel dates from the very early 60’s and is worn out. There are no fire sprinklers anywhere that I... more

We stayed overnight on our way to Tahoe. We checked in late and left early. Everything was fine. The breakfast was better than average. more

Stayed at the Clarion for a couple of nights when I went to visit family. The hotel could definitely use some spucing up to the carpets, mattresses, paint, etc. The service was "okay", nothing to write home about. The pool was looking pretty ugly, empty with dirty water in the bottom and caution tape draped all the way around. The... more

Older hotel that has been remodeled. Great sleeping rooms (oversized) - Hotel was clean & Staff was excellent! Had a good time with family and went to State Fair. Next day - played golf across street. Great location from freeway. more

For one of only two times in my life, I checked out of a hotel before staying the night. The Clarion Hotel Near CalExpo is not what one would expect from a national hotel chain. This is the type of place that people rent by the hour and not the day. The hotel is run down and dirty. The AC... more

This stay will probably convince me to stay away from Choice Hotels, which I once considered one of the better customer-service hotel chains. Their service is worse than abyssmal. The solo guest services agent, who was pummeled by requests for shuttle requests, towels, room reservations, lost and found requests, mail retrieval, did not even acknowledge me at the desk, even... more

This hotel is extremely run down located in a bad area. In need of major renovation. TV was not working in the room. We were told it would be fixed, but it never happened. We complained only to find out it really wasnt even a choice hotel at that moment in time. more

OK, I picked this hotel off the internet as it had a good rate and looked nice. The reviews were varied but really folks where do you usually stay? This was an old worn down motel with nice pillows. The staff was friendly, but they had a lot of security. The first room we were given was on the second... more

We arrived at the hotel very tired, the front desk staff was very friendly. The hotel looked a little older, but the room was great. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were soft. Great breakfast buffet for only $4.99. I would stay here again. more

The room was clean and spacous, but the hotel was indeed in need of renovation. The hotel sits on the intersection of two busy streets, one of them parallels the freeway. The neighborhood on the other side of the freeway didn't look inviting at all to say the least. While I didn't feel unsafe during my stay, my car was... more
