The resort itself is nice, with the Hot Springs, and access to San Luis Creek on the other. It is located on a busy road with rooms not 100 yards from the traffic. The walls are thin and the furniture is dated. I can live with that, but when it comes to comfort, I have to draw the line. For... more

Hello fellow travelers! Just returned from a long weekend at Sycamore. Overall, had a wonderful time - it was very relaxing and peaceful. Close to the beach and the mountains, you couldn't beat the location. It does have a bit of an older feel to it, so some updates would be nice, but it was certainly a nice place, regardless.... more

We stayed in the "Harmony" building. The room was very nice, almost luxurious, with two queen sized beds, a big TV and a deck with a Jacuzzi. The tiny bathroom, however, was straight out of a Motel 6, including a one-piece plastic bathtup/shower. We were on the ground floor, so when the people above us came in it sounded like... more

We received a gift certificate to Sycamore. The first time we went was 2 years ago, and didn't care for the heavy sulfur smell of the hot tubs....but this time was absolutely fantastic. We stayed in "Joyful," the area across the footbridge. The room was absolutely beautiful and clean, esp. the bathroom. We loved the built-in chess board (with glass... more

I had an unforgettable time at this hotel back in 2005. It was my first trip with my wife-to-be, and this honeymoon preview took us up and down Highway 1 in California. Somewhere along the way, we stopped at this lovely San Luis Obispo hotel. We had a great, great time. The mineral water bath with an added bottle of... more

I've been coming here for the last 5 years or so. Still a beautiful part of California's central coast. But, the resort is getting too pricey ( $80 for room service: Ceaser salad and a bowl of seafood stew - !!!??!! ), relative to what they offer. The rooms need renovation - for sure. The place is still "acceptable" and... more

I've been going to Sycamore Springs with family since 2003. The property is definetely unique with the mineral hot springs. I like the nature surroundings and the out door tubs. I do have to say that they need to upgrade their rooms. The carpet is old and the furniture is out dated. Also the service is not consistent. The front... more

If you like hot pools and the like, this is the place for you! Not only can you get a jacuzi for your room (always mineral water but may or may not be sulfur) but the rentable redwood hot tubs are quite nice as well. I booked the lowest priced room in the Harmony Building (this is where the rooms... more

We arrived at Sycamore Springs ready for some relaxation after a particularly gruely fall and winter work schedule. The rooms were clean yet somewhat reminiscent of Howard Johnson. The service was young and unprofessional at times. The overall experience however was great. This place defines shabby chic. Our first room was nice, but the hot tub didn't work. They put... more

I spent Xmas Eve and Xmas day at Sycamore Mineral Springs, and overall my stay was excellent. I was in a fresh water luxery suite, specifically "Persistance." It is the handicap accessible suite and is slightly larger than the others for the same price. The hot tub is also enclosed with a fence so you have more privacy. There is... more
