Room was very small but clean and adequate. Property is in a good location for walking to the beach. Staff was helpful with suggesting dining places. Breakfast was propably the most minimalist one we have encountered anywhere. Also, there was a "hostess" who poured our coffee for us. She seemed to be some Santa Barbara senior citizen despensing info. Also,... More

Three nights were spent at this lovely hotel on Bath Street, less than 2 blocks from the beach. A perfect location for exploring Santa Barbara and all its offerings. We arrived quite early in the day and the manager had a room ready for us. How kind to have the chance to begin the day early with our things in... More

I have enjoyed frequent stays at the Franciscan and found it to be the perfect spot to relax in Santa Barbara. The place has a friendly vibe, and the staff is knowledgeable and personable. Auntie Carol serves the breakfast and will fill you in on local events and history that you won't read in any guidebook. I like that the... More

The Franciscan Inn is Bath Street just off the beaten path. Easily within walking distance to State Street and Marina restaurants. This is an older hotel but nicely upgraded. The rooms are tastefully decorated and wall papered. My wife loved it and thought it was so cute! We had the two room suite with 2 queens and 1 sofa bed... More

We were in Santa Barbara for a small family gathering, and the Franciscan was a good choice to stay. Not everyone had a car, so having a pool, the beach and all its attractions, along with State Street nearby was a real plus. Also close to the train station. Our room was clean, and the staff was all incredibly helpful.... More

Santa Barbara was new to us as we had only two days in the city and two nights at the Franciscan Inn. In the morning, we came to breakfast which starts at 7 pm at the Inn. What a surprise to have such gracious breakfast service by Carol. Her knowledge of the area and excellent dining and sightseeing suggestions wee... More

For the price the hotel was well worth the money. Location is great...one block from beach. Close to State Street. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice continental breakfast. It's not your typical "hotel" as it is an old motel (two stories, park in front of your room) but it is very clean and "for the price" a really good deal.... More

My husband and I were visiting our daughter in SB and stayed the week in this Inn. It is a lovely, cozy place but the single bedroom we had was a bit small for a longer stay. I love the decore in the room and the sitting area where breakfast is served, homemade pastries , cheese and juice and coffee.... More
