I found this hotel on the Santa Barbara Hotel Group's website and was attracted by the professional photos posted on the site. I was a little discouraged when we first pulled into the driveway, seeing a low-cost hotel sign - not what I expected. The lobby, however, was really nice and wine and cheese was out when we arrived. The... more

The pics are pretty, just like the front of the hotel but then when you look around it its not so pretty. I understand property is expensive in that area but I would like to dare the management to be completely honest and show the ENTIRE property in its photos. When I was waiting to check in the person in... more

We defaulted into this hotel after another one of their properties was filled up. What a lucky break that end up being. The building is gorgeous, the front desk people were helpful, friendly, and welcoming, and the bed and sheets were wonderful. While I agree with some of the other comments that the price seems a bit high for what... more

We stayed here for two nights and had an enjoyable stay. As one other reviewer pointed out the rooms were very *homey*. Not a bad thing. Also I did enjoy the breakfasts there. The cheese and wine in the afternoon is a nice touch. I'm sorry I missed the milk and cookies later in the evening. We both found the... more

When we arrived, was surprised to see that the parking lot was more like an alleyway shared with an apartment complex. Parking was ample, however, and our stay was noise-free (except for the guests that carried on a conversation right outside our front door one evening). Wine & cheese in the evening was a highlight and the room itself had... more

Stayed 07/22-24 in a poolside suite. Don't be fooled by the name of this hotel as it is not by the harbor. I have to admit that my husband and I were slightly disappointed when we drove up to the property but decided to stick with our decision (only one of a few hotels available on this particular weekend). This... more

Maybe our stay was non representative, but we loved it. We found the front desk staff very helpful & couteous, the room was fine, and a 10 minute walk to the harbour is really not that far - how anyone could feel uncomfortable about that walk at night I do not know. The setting is lovely, and you get a... more

We had trouble finding a hotel with 2 large beds and settled on this hotel despite some poor reviews. The price was very reasonable considering being located in Santa Barbara. We found the location excellent, the staff very friendly, and the room spotless. There was a very nice breakfast, wine and cheese service and cookies and milk (all complimentary). I... more

Other reviews here are correct in saying that this place looks great from the website photo, but looks far worse on arrival. Inn by the Harbour is not by the Harbour at all. It's more like 'Motel Ten Minutes Walk From the Habour'. Our room was pretty basic. It was probably decorated in the mid eighties and hasn't been touched... more

I was very disappointed with the rooms of this hotel. They were extremely old fashioned, bathrooms were small and outdated. They had plastic flowers hanging on the walls. The parking was awful as we were there on a weekend. I suspect as did a previous poster that people from the apartment complex next door used the spots since the cars... more
