In Santa Cruz proper, its not easy to find decent lodging that doesn't seem over priced, especially on a weekend. I found this motel to be a great value, comparably, and extremely clean - which is also a rarity in Santa Cruz for some reason. I booked this hotel for a one night stay. The front desk could not find our reservation, even with the confirmation number. There was no room available. Although we did not stay, the motel appeared decent. I don't think we would try to book again in the future. The front desk did not seem too concerned. more

If you decide to visit Santa Cruz, you should definitely consider this motel. Located on Ocean Boulevard at Soquel, it is convenient to both downtown and the beach. Very nice place, booked in advanced by internet for 78$ including tax, has an AAA discount (but they didn't demand to see the ticket on arrival).
