The location was AWESOME. We were down the street from lots of shopping at 3rd street promenade and just a few blocks (visible distance) to the pier. It was nice to window shop on 3rd street. Pretty place but it's mainly about what looks good, not what works good. By far the worst feature is the boutique bathroom. The tub/shower requires a step-stool to enter or exit. Yes, there actually is one there. But the big problem is that the shower curtain CANNOT be placed in a way that keeps the floor from being badly flooded.... more

Gorgeous hotel, chic, contemporary. Very friendly and helpful staff, especially Matt who helped us upgrade to a beautiful suite with two amazing bathrooms, side sea view, 2 huge tv's...very classy. There is no mistaking that the Shangri-La has had the most amazing face lift and interior re-furb after a recent $30million was spent on it.
