I stayed on points. This is rated by Marriott as a level "8" which means it took a lot of my points. For that rating I expected much better service. On the positive side the room was really nice, big balcony with ocean view. Location is also great and in walking distance of the pier and the third street promenade.... more

This was a VERY clean and nice hotel that is not really for kids and families but definately worked for us. Like all Marriots - a little soulless but great location and very quiet too. The location of the hotel is one of the best along the beach. It is just a short walk across one street to the beach and the Santa Monica Pier. I have stayed at Le Merigot many times for both work and leisure. It is expensive but the location is great; walk to the beach, Pier, Cora's Coffee Shop next door to hotel which is convenient for a quick lunch. The staff is very nice and helpful. Tried this hotel on recent business trip, was so disappointed that I actually checked right out. The lobby and rooms and front desk staff feel like a Marriott Courtyard--this is not a JW in a resort setting at all. The pool is cramped, the lobby unfriendly, it is not a great hotel as others suggest. Try the Fairmount instead. more
