I went back and forth about reserving this cottage. From the photos, it seemed very romantic. The cottage is appropriate for the price in and around Sonoma. However, it is quite remote from the town of Sonoma. We were scheduled to visit several wineries and the drive back and forth was not worth it. There is a nice deck. Large... More

We were lucky to be able to arrange an home exchange with Carolyn for our place in Edinburgh, Scotland. We stayed in the Joyluck house so this review refers only to that property. First, it has an amazing location, close to both Sonoma and Santa Rosa, in the heart of the Sonoma Wine growing region. Food and wine were very... More

Don't let the pictures fool you...this place is living on it's laurels. Envision a once popular grande dame hotel that has been neglected and is now filled with cobwebs and in disrepair. But dangerous to the point where you and your spouse could die! For example; there is an old 4 burner gas stove in there. All four pilot lights... More

This place was amazing. It is a little difficult to get to, but well worth it. The winding road to the top of the mountain had some fantastic views of the grapes in Sonoma County. When arriving Carolyn & Gary were very friendly and made us aware of all the amenities associated with the property. They include a suspension bridge... More

We stayed here after our wedding in Santa Rosa before heading out to Hawaii. All I can say is we still remember and love this place, even after being in Kauai for the next week! Beautiful location up in the mountains but still close enough to Sonoma and Santa Rosa for quick day trips. And how many hotel rooms come... More

I actually stayed here previous to March 2010, but this was the furthest back I could go in terms of date of stay. I wanted to plan a romantic getaway for me and my husband because we are always busy with work and our children. We had a fabulous weekend. The room was beautiful and the scenery was breathtaking. The... More

Clair de Lune is just a wonderful getaway! It's always a gamble to find a good place online, but Clair de Lune was more than my boyfriend and I could have expected and we will definitely come back when we need a break from city life and our daily routines. The little cottage is small, but it is a gem.... More

My wife and I spent 4 nights at Clair de Lune last Spring for a trip to "get away from it all". Having read all the reviews on TripAdvisor before hand, we knew for the most part what to expect. Nonetheless we were pleasantly surprised. We had exchanged emails and phone calls with the owners prior the trip, and found... More

The Clair De Lune cottage was pretty much as expected; small, quaint and quiet. The kitchen had everything we needed. There is a small TV available with a nice selection of DVD's, but if your coming here, watching TV is not something I'd recommend wasting your time on. The patio has a very nice view. Mornings were great out there.... More

This is located in a nice location, but it's not as private as it appears. The owner’s house is a mere 500 feet away with a filtered view of it through the trees. The place itself wasn't very clean. You are expected to wash your own dishes, and it was apparent that not everyone does. We arrived to a champagne... More
