Did not stay here, only had lunch. But, were allowed to check out all unoccupied rooms. Beautifully restored. Extremely friendly staff. Great lunch in the pub downstairs. For the size of the rooms and overall cleanliness, attention to detail, do not think they are over priced. Definitely worth a try. more

The Scotia Inn is under new management & is FABULOUS. The pecan chicken, (speciality of the house) is moist, and very flavorful. I loved the sweet potatoe fries. Prices are very reasonable and large portions of food. It has become the new family favorite at our house. more

My out-of-date hidden california guidebook described this as a gem, and it looked like one when we rolled up and went inside. However, it's under new management and gone is the lauded restaurant and there's just a basement pub serving uninteresting and average at best food. Breakfast was a thermos of coffee and home made scones down in the lobby.... more

We were cycling from Portland to Mendocino stopping at several Inns along the way. Jeanne the innkeeper took very good care of us. The inn is unique with an entrance lobby that shows off the town history in the lumber industry. The rooms have a comfortable feel to them with a lot of nice wood pieces accenting the simplicity of... more

I came to Scotia and stayed in the Scotia Inn with my wife Wendy, my mother Betty, and my sister Joan. We lived in Scotia on Railroad Avenue from 1953 until the 1964 flood. My special experience with the Scotia Inn is that I worked as their bellhop and busboy for 3 summers, 1960 to 1963, as I started attending... more

We live in Eureka but look for congenial nearby B&Bs for our occasional romantic getaways. Scotia Inn used to fill the bill perfectly. Spacious, well-appointed, well-maintained rooms were decorated, as are so many B&Bs, in Victorian antique motif. The breakfast was ample and delicious, as one would expect. But what set this property apart was its downstairs, wainscoted dining room.... more

The town of SCOTIA is a really neat place to visit. It has the Redwoods all around and the river close to it. During... more
