From reading the majority of reports on here about this hotel, I was thinking that we might be getting a bit of a bargain stay, just outside of monterey. Instead, what we got, was a pretty dirty room, (dirty towels, dirty sheets, filthy carpets and walls) The bed comprised of two matresses on top of each other........whats that about???. For... more

Econo Lodge Bay Breeze is a very good hotel if you have a rental car because it is about four miles away from downtown Monterey. If so, the motel is a very good deal for a stay in Monterey with the following ammenities - Rooms are very spacious and clean with very good equipment such as big TV screen, microwave... more

With Highway 1 shut down because of the fires, we were forced to find a place to stay at 7pm on a Saturday night.. The first hotel off the freeway was Americas Best Value Inn. The place gave me the willies with very questionable people hanging out in front of it. The second hotel was the Econo Lodge. The man... more

Clean bathroom. Worn furniture, stains on walls and dirty carpet. This is a "just a place to stay" hotel. When you can't stay in Monterey and don't plan on spending much time in the room, then this place might meet your needs. more

We stayed at the Econo Lodge Bay Breeze for three nights during the Moto GP races at Laguna Seca. We paid over $775 for three nights, which is quite high. Most hotels in the area gouge consumers during this racing event, and Econo Lodge is no different. Conditions: adequate beds; walls desperately need paint; exterior carpets are dirty, stained, and... more

Not wanting to pay $$$ for a place in Monterey during the 4th of July weekend. I found the Econo Lodge Bay Breeze for the right price. And it turned out to be better than I expected. It is very close to the biking trail that we rode on the 1st day. It is within walking distance to Costco, to... more

We stayed here for one night on our way from LA going to San Francisco. We did not want to spend a lot of money because we were getting in late and leaving early. We had 4 rooms and they were all clean and comfortable. The bathrooms were very clean and looked new. The furniture and colors were a little... more

We stayed here in the handicap room. It is a motor lodge so we were able to park right outside the door to our room which was nice. It is an older hotel. The room was large, carpet old. The bathroom had a very low toilet which was not good for us. It also only had a tub, no roll... more

If you want a clean, simple and comfortable place to sleep in a great location that is close to all of Monterey's attractions for an unbeatable price, your expectations will be met. If you want the best of a world-class resort, buy a lover's package with the champagne and in-house spa. I am a beach lover, not into frills. I... more

This is part of a budget motel chain, adjacent to Monterey Bay. It's at the north end of Fremont St, just before it merges with CA 1, so don't make the mistake I did in trying to check in at the other EconoLodge down the street. After driving up the coast from San Luis Obispo via Big Sur on Hwy.... more
