Our friends from Europe are staying over at Del Mar Beach Club and must say this complex does not provide a good picture of vacation rentals in US. We had a wonderful week long family vacation last summer at the Del Mar Beach Club. Three units for 15 of us (ranging in age from 3 to 82!) proved to be perfect. The facilities were excellent. My husband and I are seasoned travellers, used to a variety of conditions. But our experience at the Del Mar Beach Club was so unexpectedly bad, that we are still reeling. The reviewer's statement that the CC&Rs prohibit stays shorter than two weeks is not accurate. Perhaps it was accurate in 2003, but that has not been the case since at least 2005. Rentals of one week are far more prevalent than any other kind, and are fully allowed under the CC&Rs.
