Sonoma Chalet is lke staying in grandma's attic. Joe runs a country chalet type bed and breakfast near Sonoma plaza. He has furnished all of the rooms with antiques he has collected over the years. He also has cottages, each with a theme. It was fun just exploring the furnishings in our room. The Chalet is located near the plaza... more

Our first bed and breakfast experience...darling cottage home with a rustic/farm decor. The grounds may not be appealing at first from the lot, but the rooms were large and beds comfortable. (Ask for alternative down pillows since my husband was allergic to the pillows.) Joe was a very hospitable and sweet host. Breakfast was perfectly graced with freshly ground coffee,... more

We were delighted to come back to Sonoma Chalet again after last year's visit and the owner really went out of his way to make us welcome. The room was perfect , the bathroom very clean and comfortable, fresh fruit and pastries for breakfast and 2 balconies to choose from - sunny or shady - as well as the garden... more

The Sonoma Chalet is located close to town - it's only a 5 minute drive to "downtown" Sonoma. We stayed in Sophie's room and Mural room. These are the only two guest rooms on the first floor and share a bathroom and living room. Both rooms also have a sink in the room and a private porch. The guest rooms... more

The Sonoma Chalet is a supercute B&B just off the square in the town of Sonoma,CA. Each "room" is a little cottage that is individually decorated with antiques that were acquired by the former owner. We stayed in Laura's cottage, which sits adjacent to the breakfast building. Although we had our own cottage, there wasn't a ton of privacy--Laura's cottage... more

We stayed here 9/6/2007. We booked Sara's Cottage. It was absolutely beautiful. Very charming interior. It had no TV/Telephone/Internet (thank God) but it had a A/C and ceiling fan. That came in very useful because it can be really hot in September. The inside cooled down nicely in the evening. It was just beautiful to sit on the front porch... more

Sonoma Chalet is a great place if you want to get away from it all but still be close to Sonoma Plaza and its shops and restaurants and within a short drive of a number of winerys. We needed a quiet weekend to unwind from the stresses of a hectic life and this was definitely a winner. It's situated on... more

I've stayed twice now with a third stay planned in a couple weeks. This is charming, wonderful inn. The hosts are warm yet unobtrusive. My father and I stayed in adjacent rooms (with a shared bath) and we both raved about about the charm and beauty of the entire place. Our rooms were quite inexpensive ($110 each) yet relatively large.... more

The Chalet was very charming and had a warm feel. The innkeepers were friendly and helpful. Just a few minutes from the Sonoma Plaza. Great place to get away. more

As other reviewers have said, the Sonoma Chalet is definitely "shabby chic" but it is also a great bargin in Sonoma. It is quiet, a short drive to downtown Sonoma, wineries, etc, and the breakfast is fabulous. You won't get omlets or french toast but the pasteries and fresh fruit were just perfect. Having a fridge, wine glasses, plates and... more
