We were very pleased with our stay at the American Exchange. We stayed in Room 207 and it was very clean, comfortable and updated. We had a private bathroom (shower only), which was very clean and stylish. The rooms on the 2nd floor have private baths and the rooms on the 3rd floor somehow share a bathroom(s). We were driving up to Tahoe but the pass was closed for avalanche control so we couldn't get there and had to take refuge in Sutters Creek. A charming destination, not far from Sacramento. Beautifully restored hotel that was function in 1850's!. The most comfortable bed we have had in a hotel. Charm, history and a relaxed pace. A terrific weekend get-away that could not be beat. more
