We have been looking for a nice place to spend some of our vacations each year. After staying at a multitude of cabins and motels with kitchens, and being anywhere from disappointed to disgusted, we found Ripple Creek Cabins. What a pleasant surprise! We loved this place from the first moments, and loved it more as we explored the beautiful grounds with lovely flowers and plants everywhere, the swimming hole, our cabins, etc. Megan and Peter have done a wonderful job of not only thinking of everything one could possibly need while staying, from games, to free firewood and matches, to a very well stocked kitchen to fans, and on and on. The cabin was immaculate, the surrounding grounds were not only clean, but had nice designs in the dirt to look at...thanks for that, Peter! They also have Wi-Fi, it's not high speed, which they honestly tell you about, but it does work, if a bit more slowly than what you'll get at home. Your phones may or may not work, but they told us we were welcome to use the office phone anytime we needed to-we never did but it's nice to know we could. I like that they also apparently listen to their guests as someone had mentioned somewhere that they didn't have microwaves in all the cabins, only one in a room somewhere, but when we arrived, all the cabins have them. We also played some ping pong. The funniest thing happened which made us laugh. The resident cat hopped up on the table and made himself at home while we played one evening. What was hilarious was first, a ball fell near him and he snagged it and played with it, then confiscated it and wouldn't give it back. What was even more hilarious was when I hit another ball to my husband, darn if the cat didn't reach up and bat it back to me-and it was a good shot to boot! We did video some of his antics but unfortunately had stopped filming just before he did that, drat it all. This place is a wonderful place to have a relaxing vacation in a very peaceful and beautiful spot. The swimming hole is welcome on a hot afternoon, and fun to float around on one of the floats they provide or one of your own, or just sit and relax in one of the chairs they provide down there too. When they tell you to bring everything you'll need for food for your stay, they aren't kidding. We had originally planned to stay two nights, but loved it so much we ended up staying four nights. We needed a few supplies as we were running short due to the extended stay, so had to make do with the very little available in the nearby town of Trinity Center, which wasn't much but got us through. We have already made reservations for a full week next year, and will likely make this a regular trip when we take vacations in the future. Thanks, Megan and Peter, for making this such a wonderful home-away-from-home for us!…
