This is an odd little hotel that appears to have been built for the ski crowd who don't plan on spending much time in it. There is no outdoor patio or area where one can sit outside (besides an extremely small porch with 2 chairs off the room with the hot tub). The lobby is also very small. The hallways... more

I travel several days per week on business throughout northern California. This hotel is pretty good. My room was nice and quiet (although the hotel was not very full) and pretty clean. The breakfast was simple but above average. The wireless internet in my room worked OK. There is a grocery store and a few restaurants within walking distance. more

The Inn at Truckee was a disappointment all around. The lobby and rooms were of the quality of a Motel 6. The furnishings were spartan at best, very outdated and of cheap quality. There was no closet, just a clothes rack in the room, with the ironing board and iron hanging next to it - no ambience to speak of.... more

I am not going to review this hotel. You can read other reviews for that . What I am going to do is explain how the Inn at Truckee resolves its own errors - at least in my case. When I reserved I was told that I would have a queen bed on the bottom floor. We were running late... more

We stayed there for 3 days last week. We took the "no elevator" $59/night special...which means you merely need to take stairs to your room on the 3rd floor, which was no issue whatsoever. The room was clean and comfortable. Great value for the money. Every other motel that we researched in Truckee was over $100/night. more

Needed a place to stay for one night in March. Looking around what was available in the North Lake Tahoe area led me to the Inn at Truckee. I was a little worried about going with the least expensive place but was pleasantly surprised with the Inn. The room was clean and ready when i arrived. I didn't take advantage... more

We arrived there Jan 4th, 2007 in the evening and left around 7am the next day to go to Soda Springs resort. The rooms were clean, simple. We had 2 double beds on the second floor. I went with myself and three kids. There was a fridge in the room. TV and cable. Most restaurants in the area closes by... more

We stayed here midweek in March on the stair climbers special and were very happy with our choice. We had a 3rd floor ('stair climbers') room with 2 double beds, perfect for our group of 3. The room was perfectly clean with a nice view and, bonus, a fridge. We especially appreciated the 24-hour hot drinks (tea, coffee, hot choc),... more

We found the Inn At Truckee through an article on hiking with your dogs in VIA Magazine. All sizes of dogs are welcome (& that can be hard to find). The staff was helpful and friendly and the rooms were very clean. There is open space for Fido behind the hotel with a creek, and restaurants and a grocery store... more

Stay at the River Street Inn instead - you'll pay maybe $20 more, but it's more than worth it. The Inn at Truckee is over-priced, not very friendly and you're not in a very interesting part of town. Our first time here they'd messed up our bookings and so we had nowhere to stay with the receptionist accusing us of... more
