Although my first impression was not favorable, aside from the lovely garden the outside is really messy/dirty, I was with a small group so stayed put. Acutally the insides of the rooms are very nice, clean and comfortable and a lot of care has obviously been put into the rooms. The outside is another story. My friends who paid more... more

There are feelings and emotions that are difficult to describe, things you cannot quite see all of when you look at them straight on, and colours you only see in your mind and can never quite capture on the page. Howard Creek Ranch is all of that and more. I read time and again that some people think that hotels... more

This beautiful and cosy ranch provides a welcome escape from the pressures of urban life. Yes, as other reviewers say, it is quite remote - and that's one of the benefits. We spent four blissful nights here, with mobile phones switched off, no checking of email, no watching of TV and no listening to radio. We didn't miss them! To... more

The Howard Creek Ranch is definitely a special place unlike any other I've stayed at. We stayed there over Thanksgiving weekend and very much enjoyed the hospitality of Sally and Cheryl. The property is on a spectacular piece of land that is so close to the ocean you can hear the waves crashing into the rocks from the room. The... more

This was our third stay at the Howard Creek Ranch, our first being back in 2006. We tend to go up there over long holiday weekends, and this year was no different: we spent the US Thanksgiving weekend in the Beach House, our favorite cabin by far. The Beach House is the most expensive place to stay on the property,... more

I could never have asked for a more magical, romantic and adventurous 25th wedding anniversary! Sally, Sunny, Cheryl, and every single person there made us feel right at home even though we were 800 miles away. The property itself is breathtaking. The accomadations were stunning. We stayed in the beach house which was a separate cottage. We had a private... more

Found it via B&BFinder(we had gift certificates), altho Sally the Innkeeperwasn't sure about accepting the gift certificates, we ended up splitting the 10% cost that had to go to B&Bfinder...so I wouldn't go there with Gift Certs. We stayed in the Waldon Room, and it was nice. Sonny does some very nice detailed work..the shower in our room was neat.... more

Like many others, I am making an annual trip to Howard's Creek. I live in Virginia, so that is saying something. My first stay was in Lucy's Room, where there is a glimpse of the sea from the large deck shared with the Sun Room. The second time, I discovered the Meadow Cabin, which is the room of my dreams... more

We stayed one night at the Howard Creek Ranch in August 2008. The property is located about 10 miles north of Fort Bragg on Hwy. 1 about 200 yds. from the ocean. The building is a charming old farmhouse. We were warmly greeted by an employee who showed us our room and around the property. We stayed in the Sun... more

What a Great adventure. My husband and I were looking for a place that would just let us get away. This was it. We could spend the day walking the beach, tide-pooling or just sitting in the sand and reading. If we wanted more, as dinner in town, we just went down the road. It is not close, but close... more
