Before I made reservations at Bordeaux, I shopped around. The price point and the location (Yountville) made this the best option. The room was clean, comfortable, breakfast was great, the inn was cozy, and in the heart of Yountville, which is very expensive. If you want to see Napa and not spend a lot of money, you are better off... more

I, too, stayed at The Bordeaux House and was unimpressed. The room was pleasant but 'no great shakes.' What I do recall was the temperament of the owner which wasn't very 'warm and cuddly.' I do believe that a smile and kind demeanor mean a lot and I wasn't met with either at Bordeaux House. Great location yet not a... more

We enjoyed our two night stay at The Bordeaux House. Like previous posts, the breakfast was delicious and the room was nicely appointed. The innkeeper, Jean, is very businesslike and not very talkative. If you have questions about the area or inn, ask them. I think she keeps her distance to give guests a relaxing atmosphere but she was very... more

This bed & breakfast is really more of a small inn that serves breakfast. The location is wonderful at the end of the busy part of Washington Street...a bit more quiet than half a block down, but still close enough to walk to any of the wonderful restaurants in the town. The room was nice, but could use some paint,... more

Location, location--the Bordeaux House has IT! In the heart of Yountville, just a few doors down from the French Laundry and a short walking distance to other icons of culinary excellence, including: Bouchon (and its bakery!), Bistro Jeanty, Hurley’s, Michael Chiarello’s new Bottega Restaurant, Ad Hoc, Redd, plus a multitude of shops and galleries along Washington St. Walk north instead... more

We had hoped for a romantic 2-night stay, but alas we were disappointed and cannot recommend this bed and breakfast. The pros are the location near downtown Yountville and an okay breakfast; the cons are many: no privacy, can hear everything from upstairs and next door, the decor is dated, and the fireplace was full of ashes. The innkeeper could... more

The Bordeaux House was the perfect place to stay for our vacation. We were in Yountville for a wedding at the Vintage Inn. The Bordeaux house was perfect! It was literally right across the street from the Vintage Inn - no more than 30 feet away. The hotel is nice and clean, and the rooms were a great size. I... more

We stayed at Bordeaux House for 2 nights during harvest season, in 2 different rooms. Both rooms were comfortable and charming. Breakfast was excellent and a fun time to chat with other travelers. Everyone compared notes and gave each other advice. The innkeeper Jean is a wealth of knowledge about the area. The lobby is open for breakfast in the... more

Just returned from a wine tasting trip. Compared to our previous stay which was at the Carneros Inn, a beautiful property with wonderful accommodations, we felt that overall the Bordeaux house stay was by far more practical and better value. Located in the heart of Yountville, we were able to make short drives to the wineries and walk to excellent... more

We recently had a 4 day stay there. It was a wonderful experience. We would stay there again. I don't understand some of the other reviews about the inn keeper not being personable. She was very personable with us & very willing to help when we asked for her help. I believe some of that past guest misinterpeted her business... more
