My husband and I have stayed at Bighorn Cabins twice. This time we were in the area to ride our motorcycle along the scenic Cache Le Poudre River.

This is an area not frequented by out-of-state tourists. Rather, it is known mostly by folks from Colorado and particularly those who come to fish, hunt, hike, or just enjoy the scenery.

There are just 5 cabins. Normally there is a 2-7 night minimum, but occasionally 1-night stays are available. There is a 30-day cancellation notice which is to be expected for a small place. The grounds are lovely and well maintained. The best part is that the Cache Le Poudre River runs along the back of the property.

There are a couple restaurants nearby but don't expect five-star dining choices. Most visitors cook most meals in their cabins. The cabins are immaculate and the owners have thought of every possible need. The kitchens are fully outfitted.
