I wanted to put in an updated review of Fortune Valley again. This time we stayed for my husband's birthday and we got the best room ever. It was room 440--on the top floor and it has a view towards Central City and also down the hill towards Blackhawk. The room was larger than the others we have stayed in... more

After spending 5 days in Dillon, CO, we decided to stay at this hotel for several reasons: try our luck at some slots/blackjack (won at both), closer to Golden as we planned on touring the Coors Brewery and to be closer to the Denver Airport. Even though they were giving away a car the night we checked in, our rate... more

I love the rooms at Fortune Valley, they are clean and comfortable. However I do not like the casino. I don't care much for the buffet. The location is not the best, I prefer to stay down in Blackhawk although it's not far. more

Central City is one of the most perfectly preserved Old West towns I've ever visited----------I believe the entire place is a designated national historic district. It's located in small valley encircled by steep hills. Old mines, some of them still in operation, dot the slopes above the town. The locale is especially scenic in late September, when the aspen groves... more

Clean, fairly quiet, very nice views out large windows, good size rooms and well-appointed bathrooms. all in all, a very comfortable place to stay, and the price can be a steal. more

My hubby and I visited in 2005 for my birthday. We had such a great time that I requested another visit for my birthday in 2006. Everyone from the General Manager to the maid took care of our every request. The maid even came over to hold one of the cups of coffee while my hubby was about to set... more

Okay place if you're a gambler. We were passing through on a vacation, and wanted to stay in this historic and scenic old city. We chose this casino as our motel. Not good. The service runs from indiffernt to mildly rude. The room was okay, but the price made it a bad value. They charge for all outgoing 'phone calls... more

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at Fortune Valley Hotel for 2 nights in September, 2005. The first night (Wednesday) we got the "Gambler's Special" (which included a $10 cash certificate) at about $70. Thursday night our room cost about $72 with a 10% AAA discount. Friday night it would have cost about $107 with the AAA discount. The... more
