De Vere Wokefield Estate, the hotel has been completely transformed following a £10 million restoration throughout. The all-new Wokefield Place, a high-tech dedicated conference building has been refurbished and kitted out with all the AV and IT you need. A Pantry, the groups’ signature coffee shop has been added, complementing the current Restaurant, Bar and Deli. Inspired by British heritage design. A new collection of bedrooms has also been created. Once again the heart of the estate, the historic Mansion House has had a complete makeover and now offers 87 guestrooms, including 12 luxury suites, along with the restoration of a number of event spaces including the pillared Terrace Suite. A nod to the estate’s history, The 1560 Restaurant – serving classic British dishes - is now open serving Breakfast through to Dinner whilst the new Whiskey Lounge is a cosy spot for drinks until the small hours.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hotel's Favourite
We booked this hotel as a dinner, bed & breakfast deal through a 3rd party and what a find! Communication from the hotel from the moment we booked until departure was prompt, clear & utterly helpful. Big thank you to Jasmine & Charlotte on reception for their help & attention to our booking. Nothing was too much trouble & instilled confidence in our weekend ahead. Thank you, ladies. All staff were friendly, helpful & accommodating. Even though our weekend away wasn't a particularly special occasion, we were so well looked after by Rachel & Zoe in the restaurant, we felt we were celebrating every day. Such amazing service and a familiar, warm welcome every time. Thank you both, for making us feel so special. The restaurant serves delicious food with a good variety of dishes & caters well for children of all ages. The big picture windows offer a superb spot for looking out over the green & grounds in a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. The restaurant is well spaced to allow families, big parties & couples to share the space without disturbing each other & the staff made an effort to ensure my husband & I could enjoy our weekend together alongside the families & groups that wanted to do the same. Very good planning & service, which made a real difference. The rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable & well tended with a large, clean bathroom & beautiful Penhaligon soap & shower gel. A subtle note about previous guests 'helping themselves' to these made us smile & has inspired us to seek some out now we're home. We were given a lovely quiet room on the 3rd floor with a view of the golf course - just perfect. We don't golf, but followed the hotel's 'red route' walking trail, which circumnavigated the course. Even with my limited knowledge, it looks to be expansive & challenging to even the most seasoned player. Certainly, the course was busy all three days we were staying & the bar full & lively at the end of each day, so that would suggest the course is worth playing if you're a golfer. The walking routes take in some beautiful views & illustrate the vast grounds of the property. Guests are free to explore & come & go as they please, which so refreshing for a golfing hotel. There is plenty of parking, and we went out every day, without worry if being able to park later. But, with such good facilities, you could spend the whole day exploring the grounds & making use of the good size & very clean pool. Am excellent base for exploring the region, we cannot fault our stay at all & would visit again without hesitation.

Excellent time at Wokefield under the care of Ivan, Domingo and all the brilliant staff. We were there as part of a Joy Swift Murder Weekend but the hospitality you receive at Wokefield is by far the best we've experienced in the DeVere chain. We can't fault it at all.

My partner, now fiancé, had been communicating with Kelly for months to plan the engagement, obviously I didn’t find out until after haha, but my partner had every good word to say about her! She was so helpful and welcoming, nothing was too much for her, went above and beyond in every way! Personally, I think she deserves a promotion! She made sure everything was perfect and honestly we had the absolute best time ever and have now decided this will be our go too for every anniversary and special occasion from now on! The attention to detail was phenomenal, I am coeliac (allergic to gluten) and always find it impossible to eat anywhere, in our room we had gluten free snacks and Kim at breakfast showed me all the gluten free stuff and advised what I can and can’t eat, this is usually a big issue in hotels for us. I could probably go on forever but all in all, 100/10, would recommend to anyone and we will be back soon for sure!

Everything was excellent - the rooms, food, surroundings. What I loved too was that I heard multiple occasions where the staff seemed super helpful and supportive of each other too. If staff are treated well and happy it is a good sign for me.

We have stayed at this hotel several times as guests to Joy Swifts Murder Mystery weekend. She does various different De Vere hotels, however, we will now only come to this one. The hotel itself is lovely, with lovely grounds and good facilities. However, what makes this weekend is the staff. Everyone goes above and beyond for absolutely everything! Ivan is honestly one of the best people we have met. Nothing is too much for him, and he does everything he can to make sure we are happy, even if it meant bringing me a little something special that wasn't on the lunch menu! The hotel would not be the same without Ivan, and we will only return if we know he is going to be there for the weekend! Another special mention for Aaron (Ivan Jr), he isnt actually Ivan Jr, however his personable approach to guests is very similar to Ivans, making the experience even more enjoyable. Thank you for an amazing weekend, and thank you to all the staff as always.

We attended this weekend for a Joy Swift Murder Mystery weekend. I cannot fault our stay in the slightest. Ivan and Domingo are genuinely two of the most warm hearted gentlemen who clearly love what they do and cannot go out of their way more. The hotel is beautiful, clean and set in the most serene atmosphere. Highlight of our stay was Domingo opening the bar and Ivan busting through the doors, declaring “Caaaall the Police, I’ve found a body” Thank you so much for making our stay so incredible. We have stayed at other De Vere sites in the past but this is by far the best one yet. ❤️❤️

I went to the De Vere Wokefield Estate for a Joy Swift Murder Weekend (which I can thoroughly recommend as well). The hotel is lovely with nice rooms, lovely grounds and good food. The staff were incredibly friendly and professional. A special shout out to Ivan. Nothing was too much trouble for him.
