We are a long-time local couple and this was our 3rd trip to Dunton since the resort changed hands several years ago for "Lunch and a Soak". It was a quiet October weekday, and there was only one other couple in residence that day. We had the bath-house and outdoor springs to ourselves for a romantic getaway. When we called... more

This was our second visit to Dunton Hot Springs, in Dolores, Colorado. This restored mining town is a luxurious rustic resort, with very fine dining, soothing hot spring and fantastic views. The chef (this time and the last) was Dennis and he is amazing. 3 meals a day, perfectly turned out. Elk, lamb, salmon, wild boar. Delicious soup on a... more

My husband and I stayed at Dunton Hot Springs for two nights as part of a week long trip to Southwest Colorado and absolutely loved it. I'm not sure what the best part was-from the beauty of the surrounding area to the delightful hot springs to the staff who were willing to cater to our every need to Chef Dennis,... more

We stayed at Dunton Hot Springs in late Sept., early October in Bjoerkmann's cabin. I say it is a once in a lifetime stay because it was the ultimate in pampering, luxury and fine dining while being quite a bit out of our pocket. The idea of staying in an old ghost town in completely renovated cabins was too much... more

We went to Dunton for our honeymoon and we LOVED it! FOOD: I am a vegetarian and my husband is not but we were both well-fed. (Dennis the chef especially knew how to prepare excellent vegetarian food!) CABIN: We stayed in both the Honeymoon and the Well House cabin...Honeymoon cabin was a little more intimate and romantic but we ultimately... more

Unbelievable location, atmosphere and amenities. Chef Dennis Morrisroe is a master in the kitchen and a reason to go for the food alone. Unforgetable experience overall but the food is to die for. more

We spent a couple of nights in June, and it could not have been better. The food was outstanding! We went fly fishing and I would highly recommend it. The staff was very professional and helpful. Our cabin was perfect. The setup lends itself to meeting the other guests, which was nice. Overall, I cannot say enough nice things about... more

We recently stayed here based on a review in Andrew Harper's Newsletter. They pretty well nailed it. We had a wonderful 3 day stay. The location, far out in the country in Colorado yields specatcular scenery as well as piece and quiet. From the outside everything still looks the way it did decades ago, but inside...what a transformation. The rooms... more

We stayed three nights here and I have to say, this is one of the best vacations we have taken. The staff was super accommodating, especially Chef Dennis. What a great cook. We also enjoyed visiting with Eric. The area is very remote and very relaxing. We hiked and did some fly fishing. We saw deer, birds, marmots and lots... more
