Wow, what an incredible time we had enjoying the Tree Top Soaring adventure at Tall Timber Resort. They have created an incredible treat of soaring from tree to tree on a zipline. We took the train from the Rockwood station in Durango and enjoyed a 45 minute ride to the Resort where we were greeted by the 'sky rangers' and harnessed up for our day.
I am extremely afraid of heights, but JohnRoy and his guides really made me feel safe and I had the time of my life. Their gourmet lunch was fantastic while we dined in the trees next to the river.
Our day ended with the train ride back to Durango and many exciting recollections of our day in the trees.
I will never forget this trip!

Nestled along the Animas river in SouthWestern Colorado, Tall Timber Resort is
in a class by itself. Surrounded by National Forest, it can only be reached by helicopter or by travelling on the Durango and Silverton Railroad from Durango, CO.

Even though you will enjoy the isolation, the wildlife and the sounds of the River as it courses through the valley, don't think for one minute you are "roughing it." Accomadations are first class in every respect. Dinning is a five star experience. The property boast a 5000 book library, hot tubs, horseback riding, hiking, golf and the recent addition of the Tree Top Adventure offered by Soaring.

Soaring Tree Top Adventures is the highest, safest, largest all-day extreme arboreal excursion anywhere. It is a one of a kind experience!

My wife and I have been returning to Tall Timber for over 15 years, and we consider it one of the best kept travel experiences in North America.
