We had the northern most bottom-floor unit (closest to the lift) and it was very nice, but at the time we were there (mid-Feb 07) none of the Purgatory Townehomes (PT) units were allowed to use their fireplaces. Strike 1. At 0730 every morning you got to hear LOTS of construction going on 2 floors above you. Not a big deal since we were up anyway but I felt sorry for anyone that wanted to sleep in. However, that did point out another glaring deficiency, the walls in PT are made of paper (it seems like) and EVERY sound goes right thru those walls, ceilings, whatever. Strike 2. Finally, our unit was advertised as ski-in/ski-out. It wasn't even CLOSE. It is at least a 150 yard walk to the lifts. If you can come down a very challenging black known as Lower Hades (for a reason) then you might be able to cut the walk back down to 100 yards (whoopee). Strike 3. PT is out for us. If you're staying there to ski make sure you are paying "walk to" prices not ski-in/ski-out prices. If... more
