This is a 25 year old hotel for sure, in need of serious updating. We had reservations. The manager on check-in was pleasant, and gave us the last king bed room. The room was a non-smoking room, however the room reeked of smoke that was musty and horrible. We couldn't access the internet at all. The air-conditioner barely kept the... more

The mananger seemed to be all about selling a room for top dollar. he told us there was only one room left, riverview, two beds, no smoking for $149. The AAA discount was 138.50. Not much of a discount. When my sister asked about the military discount, suddenly there was another room available, parking lot view, for $125. The room... more

We were disappointed to find this to be a very dated Holiday Inn. All rooms open to the parking lots, so we had to suffer through all sorts of parking lot conversations, late-nighters coming in and road noise. Staff forgot our wake-up call one morning... good thing we were still on Eastern time. Room was clean. more

First night's room was facing the interior courtyard -big mistake. The pool is open late and a younger crowd were up late being noisy. Maintenance/security guy was more interested in watching the girls in the hot tub than controlling the loud behavior. Next two nights were spent in a room facing the river. It was MUCH quieter. It's an older... more

I rarely give any hotel rating less than two because I believe most of the hotel operators try their best to please their customer. However, this Holiday day Inn probably deserves a ZERO point if I can do so. We are on our way to Denver and planned to stay overnight in Durango. I have my corporate travel agent to... more

Pros: This is an older Holiday Inn. The HCP room was well designed for wheelchairs with roll in shower. The location is great for tourists who wish to walk to the train or to the old town shopping area. The gorgeous Animas River runs right behind the hotel which has a paved trail along the river covering several miles. Cons:... more

Although the Holiday Inn is in a great central location, there were plenty of other reasons not to return to this hotel. Upon arriving, I automatically removed the floral bedspreads- only to find a large urine stain on one of the spreads. Later that night, my 4 year old daughter asked me what the little white pill was she found... more

The hotel was fine, clean enough. We only paid $104 with an entertainment card discount. For this price it was worth it. We did not book a riverview room because my husband and I wanted a king bed and they only had 2 doubles on the river. We did enjoy using the river walk. The walk to town is not... more

Avoid this place! It is far too expensive for what you get!!! Rooms are not sound isolated : basically, you live with the neightbour and the people yelling in front of your door whilst coming back late at night... We probably had a lack of luck : there were people taking part of a wedding sleeping there. They came back... more
