My family of five, including three children ages 21,19 & 13, stayed at the historic Hotel Colorado for three nights in August of 2009. We had a marvelous time. The hotel is aged but still a classic. The rooms are due for updating, which is apparently in the planning stages. The big lobby is a delight, and the hotel is... more

My wife and I went to Glenwood Springs to celebrate our fifth anniversary and settled on the Hotel Colorado. Upon check-in we were greeted with a pleasant upgrade surprise to a penthouse suite (1 BR + formal living room) as that was the only room available with a king size bed that we requested. Now understand, this is an old... more

We read many of the reviews and decided to stay at the Hotel Colorado. We knew there was no A/C and since the days we were going to be there were cool we went for it. Our room was HUGE. It was a suite. This was not the Marriott and we did not want that. We wanted a historic old... more

I had scheduled a "superior" two bedroom suite over the Internet, but it was double booked. The person at the front desk (who did not speak English very well) explained that they had problems with their Internet reservation system (ihotelier.com) making double and triple bookings of the same room. So, she gave us two one-bedroom suites for the same rate.... more

My husband and I stayed for 3 days at Hotel Colorado. The service was wonderful, the food was excellent and the Hotel was glorious. It is not a new, all the bells and whistles hotel. It has comfy beds, flat screen TV and a very serene feel to it. It is very much a get away. It does not have... more

The Hotel Colorado is for anyone who wants to while away their vacation in a beautiful mountain setting. The hotel itself is old and admittedly the rooms are shockingly in need of modernization. Our room featured two beds, a large closet, a flatscreen television, and a large bathroom. The beds were comfortable and we had no trouble sleeping. The bathroom... more

Our family stayed 2 nights and 3 days at Hotel Colorado and had a wonderful time. The hotel staff was exceptional with our transportation, room, meals we ate at Baron's Restaurant. We found the history of the hotel to be another wonderful highlight of our stay. All in all, we were greeted and treated in the most personal manner and... more

OK, let me explain: we were railroaded but we really enjoyed the experience. RMA has a 3-day travel package from Denver to Glenwood Springs and back on Amtrak and it was great! But then, we love trains. Upon arrival we were met at the station by a hotel shuttle even though the short walk with wheeled luggage would have been... more
