I have stayed here several times this year in the lovely pet-friendly cabins. The location is fabulous, short walk to the exquisite lake, the shopping, the beautiful river and the park! I have a letter prepared to send to the Chamber of Commerce regarding trying to cancel reservations when the lodge didnt have enough space to accomadate one additonal guest. Front desk is only open for limited hours. Very historic place, but not the friendliest atmosphere. The bottom line is there are other places to stay in this area, and I would stay elsewhere. more

We recently stayed at the Rapids Resort. Our unit was a Condo, #6 which bordered the river. The accomodations were top-notched, and very comfortable. We stayed at this hotel Aug 20 in rooms LR 3,4 and 7 and I would agree the restaurant meals are quite good but about $10.00 per meal over priced running in the mid $30's for entrees. Staying in 'River Song' bedroom in the main building which dates from 1915. The room was very comfortable and clean with all the facilities you require. The owners and staff were friendly and helpful. If you going to dine anywhere in Grand Lake you cannot beat the the Rapids restaurant, wonderful food and great service. more
