We chose this hotel because of it's great reviews. We agree that this is one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. For us, its location right at the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park was perfect. In the evening we could go in the park and see the elk bugle and get back to our room in just... more

Our family was looking for a quiet and scenic place to rest, relax and rejuvenate. We came across a hotel called Gateway Inn which turned out to be the most beautiful place in Grand Lake, Colorado. When we first walked into the hotel, my children were thrilled to see the giant flat screen with a WII system enticing them to... more

We loved our stay @ the Gateway Inn. The family who owns the Inn are incredibly helpful with; close short, beautiful hikes, the best ice cream place, the Rapids rest (excellent) was mentioned. The beds are super comfy, and the room was really clean. We had 2 different singers on both Friday and Saturday night. The place was packed on... more

We really enjoyed our stay here. The property is newer and clean. The staff was very pleasant. The rooms are quite and we didn't have much noise from adjacent rooms. Rates are reasonable. more

This hotel is not a chain. It is owned by a local family and provides an extremely comfortable and enjoyable stay with an amazing view of Grand Lake and the surrounding mountains; either from inside their rustic bar or the extensive patio/deck. The night we stayed there they had live entertainment that was excellent! The hotel is very clean and... more

This was a wonderful place to stay. The rooms were very quiet, clean, and comfortable. We loved the lodge decor. Perfect for this area. We really enjoyed the fire pits on the deck and the beautiful views of the mountains and the lake. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. It felt like a home away from home. We will definetly... more

Basically I like a new hotel or a recently renovated one. Don't need much but it has to be clean. Normally stay at a Hampton Inn, Quality Inn, or the like. The Extra Good: I hiked from Estes Park to Grand Lake and back with 2 rest nights (1 day) at this Inn in between these two journeys. The hotel... more

We were tickled that our assigned room number 113 had special meaning for us and hoped that it hinted we would have a good stay, which we did! I enjoyed the first floor more than the other times we were there on the second floor, since it is closer to the ice machine and the self-serve "breakfas". We enjoyed watching... more

This is the third time I was able to stay at the Gateway. They have updated their continental breakfast and added features to their bar/lobby area including a WII game. This is a family run business and they accommodated us beautifully. They added a "casino" night with music and even though we were 2 balconies away we didn't hear a... more

Hey! How's the weather down there???? We have been a bit cool the past couple of days. Much needed rain. I am glad you made your trip home safe. My dad said to tell you hello. Oh, and the moose say hello too. Thank you for the review. We look forward to seeing you again. Lisa

I booked four nights in Estes Park and planned to stay in Grand Lake for an additional night. Since I procrastinated about booking a room until the night before, I wasn't sure what my prospects might be, particularly since we required a room with two beds. Since the Gateway Inn was well-rated I decided to stay here. I was a... more
