Sadly this property has not been maintained in its old age. The carpet was stiff and crusty the HVAC system sounded like a semi truck engine running. There had apparently been water damage in the ceiling it had been re-painted but so poorly it left a huge blister looking thing that hung down. The bedspreads looked new but my husband... more

This hotel makes Best Western look horrible!! This is the most disgusting place I have ever stayed in my life. The Cow Palace Inn makes Super 8 look like the Ritz! The rooms are out dated, but to make it even worse infested with bugs of all kinds. The whole night was spent swatting bugs away (not just flies). The... more

I would not recommend the Best Western in Lamar Colorado. We stay at Best Western frequently but this one is run down and worse we found animal excrement near the baseboards so obviously cleaning thoroughly between guests is not something they do. more

We have a daughter playing softball in Lamar and have stayed in different hotels through out this college year. We had never tried the Cow Palace I guess I was thinking it would be too expensive. We decided to go up to Lamar on the spur of the moment last weekend and stayed in a dump the first night, and... more

I’ve traveled all over the world and I think I can safely say the Cow Palace in Lamar, Colorado was the weirdest place I've ever stayed. The strangeness began with the carpeted sidewalk out front, and continued at the front desk, and then throughout the rest of the place. First, although they were clearly NOT busy, the three people behind... more

I brought in a tour group. I SPECIFICALLY ASKED the front desk, do you have a free breakfast and do you have internet? YES they said. They had nether. Free breakdfast ONLY on weekends. Internet ONLY in the front rooms....breakfast in their restaruant was unbelievably expensive...about $12 a person. Then at 5 am, the ceiling outside my room collapsed. Workmen... more

This is an older property, but is OK for a stopover. The rooms are large, and ours was clean. Each room had a fridge/microwave, so that was an added plus. Pillow were good. The pool was really warm; made it nice to go swimming with the kids. We didn't eat at the hotel, but could tell it wasn't very busy... more

We've stayed at the Cow Palace frequently over the years. It could use some renovation and a thorough cleaning. The rooms aren't bad and are roomy but in need of a good deep cleaning and some new bedspreads. more

I think the hotel was clean, though I admit to being somewhat afraid to sleep in the bed and thought seriously about keeping my clothes on. I hope that the reason the hotel and the room was so dank and dingy was, in part, due to a renovation. If not, this place is in serious decline free-fall. Now, I understand... more

We stopped in Lamar, purely unexpected, and opted for the Cow Palace Inn because it had an indoor pool for the kids. Our room was very nice and very big. The pool area was absolutely lovely and the hot tub was perfect. Best surprise was the buffet at dinner. Friday nights offer an all-you-can-eat Mexican buffet, which we would normally... more
