We spent 3 wonderful days at the Cabin. it was a great central location to tour Mesa Verdi, Canyon of the Ancients, and Hovenweep. The Cabin was just rustic enough.. but had nice homey accommodations. Bob was a great innkeeper .. friendly but not overbearing. The views from the cabin's deck of Mesa Verdi were beautiful. We enjoyed our time... more

Bob and Susan are great B&B hosts. They practically lend you their home during your stay. The breakfasts were great and their information and suggestions about the area were a big help in helping us to enjoy our time there. We would love to go back. S. G. Dallas Ga. more

This was an absolute treat. The hospitality was warm, the lodging was lovely and comfortable, the setting was beautiful. If only we could find a place like this for every trip we would like to take. Thank you very much to the Scotts. more

This place was great! Bob & Sue gave us good directions beforehand. They are very welcoming and helpful without bothering you. They are very laid back & didn't mind our younger two kids laying claim to their two dogs who were friendly. Kids loved the cabin where we stayed. More than 5 people would have been a little cramped though.... more

We recently traveled throughout New Mexico and Colorado, staying at several places during the trip. Sundance Bear was our first B&B and by far the best place we stayed during the entire trip. The grounds and view are just amazing, and the warm welcome we received from Bob and Sue was genuine and made us feel right at home. They... more

Stayed with friends in the Lodge for 2 nights where there are two rooms with a great room which we had all to ourselves. This place is extraordinary. They are on 80 stunnng acres with a beautiful pond and views to die for. Hosts were terrific and made us feel right at home. Why would anyone stay in a roadside... more

We had not stayed in a b&b before, and were very pleased with the experience. The only problem we had was the room we stayed in, the Mancos Room, was somewhat small and was too hot to sleep in until the middle of the night. Therefore would NOT recommend anyone stay in that room during the summer. Everything else was... more

Management response from
SundanceBear, Owner

Outside temps those two nights were about 55-60F and the Mancos room has a ceiling fan so it is normally not a problem. There was no cross breeze then and the room was slow to cool down. We didn’t know until they left, but immediately purchased a small portable window fan for the room to “help the breeze” should that...

We had a lovely one night stay at the lodge in the larger of the two rooms. The lodge was a scenic drive up the valley from Mancos where we enjoyed a good supper in a family style restaurant. Sundance Bear lodge was beautifully situated with stunning views in every direction from every room. Our host made us very welcome and... more

This B & B was one of the highlights of our holiday. The owners were warm, welcoming and informative about the area. The house was beautiful and guests have the grounds outside to explore (or in my case, lounge about in). Guests also have the lounge /dining area to take advantage of and how pleasant it was to slump down... more
