Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Where to even start with this review bearing in mind I am never one to complain and am quite happy to go along and make the most of a situation but on this occasion I just can't. Jet2 need to really think about advertising this hotel as it definitely does not live up to it's 3*+ standards. Pros: Rooms cleaned daily with fresh towels and beds made Son loved the splash park but I had read previous reviews on children cutting their feet so I did make him wear pool shoes and witnessed many people with the rep regarding this problem Cons: Cold/just warm food every night Flies all around the fruit juice vending machine next to the bread with I can't even tell you how many flies there was that many, which once disturbed, settled on the bread that was out next to the juice machine No health and safety at all - cleaning round the pools on a morning (the only time I ever saw the floors being cleaned, stairwells were disgusting) when people are going for breakfast, no warning signs to say wet floor etc. There's a picture attached of the soaking floor opposite the stairs attached No fire blankets in rooms even though they provide a toaster (one which I still never received after letting reception know there wasn't one in my room, luckily my parents had one they didn't need to use), fair enough fire extinguishers on every floor but no good if needed straight away to prevent a bigger fire Snack bar was awful, the grill they apparently usually use to do burgers etc on was broken so everything got deep fried in the same basket whether it be a burger, hot dog or your chips! Children's entertainment on a night was abysmal! First two nights there was nothing on. I was yet to see the children's club open during the day which was one of the main points I booked the hotel to keep my son entertained and have something different to look forward to each day My mother and father had an accident on the stairs leading up to their room both requiring hospital treatment, my dad had to stay overnight. Not once were they offered anything complimentary by the hotel such as a bottle of water in their room when they returned from hospital etc. Vicky from reception (not sure if she's assistant manager) did call up to the room the following day and arranged for the doctor to come out to see them to check the wounds as advised by the hospital but they say they have no accident book and I was told by the rep the hotel are not obliged to have any staff with basic first aid training on site. Frightening considering this is family hotel, which to add, there were no lifeguards on any of the pools. The hotel was due to close on today (Tuesday 31st October 2023) which I'm assuming there were still holiday makers at the accommodation. The pool tables had been emptied on the Thursday/Friday so they put notices on saying out of order! Same as one of the juice machines, it had obviously ran out and they weren't happy to fill it as "it was end of season" which is all the answers I could get. I don't care if it's end of season, I didn't pay end of season prices and I expect to be provided the same as anyone who came earlier in the year. To be honest I could go on and on. Even more annoying was the fact I rang JET2 to consider changing my location when I initially booked my holiday once I had read reviews but they talked me round to keeping it and talked me into upgrading to all inclusive. I wish I had gone with my gut and didn't just think the other negative reviews were just people wanting a whinge!

Dear guest, I'm really sorry to read your comment. I can understand your complains and I have not enough words to appologise. The hotel suffered a lack of staff at the end and even if we tried not to affect the service it did. So again, my sincere apology. Apart from that I can honestly tell you that the hotel has a strick healthy and safety rule. Hopefuflly you'll be able to check next season reviews and you'll see the improvements made.

Beautiful clean well maintained hotel. Staff friendly and food catered to the 5 adults and 4 children definitely something for everyone to eat. 2 drinks per person max at the bar which means lots of repeated trips but just a minor inconvenience. Snack bar serves hot dogs and burgers no food available after restaurant closes for after dinner so make plans for picky eaters. Only a few shops in the area but so easy to get a bus into bigger town or Ibiza town itself. Beach is just outside the hotel and you can do paddling boarding and kayaking for a small cost. A great place for a relaxing holiday.

My family and I have just came back from here. The balansat resort hotel is a very quiet resort. Not much to do but the hotel itself had 3 pools and a beach on its doorstep. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. Rooms kept spotless. Only downside my view was a view of a cliff brick wall and a generator going all the time even through night that sounded like someone had a hoover going in my room. Luckily it dnt stop me sleeping 😴. Food was okay. It was a bit cold at times but always well cooked. Pool bar had snacks fruit and ice cream. Entertainment was minimal. 45 mins to airport which was good . Overall if you want a quiet holiday this is for you.

Just came back from this hotel. I have mixed reviews for this hotel some good some rubbish, firstly the staff are lovley, all welcoming and always grafting. Food is lovley. The rooms are cleaned everyday with fresh towels and always spotless. Beds really comfy. Good selection of drinks, burgers, hot dogs chips at snack bar, aswell as icecreams. Entertainment was very poor. I was bored every night due to this. Mini disco every night for an hour playing the same songs over and over. Wasn't great for older children my sons 8. It was more for toddlers. There's 3 pools I didn't go in the adult pool I like fun family pools. Waterslide bit was more for toddlers 6 years under. The water which I've never known it to be in a pool was salt. So all I could taste on my lips after the pool was salt. This issue also caused my kids to have bleeding feet. From them getting soft with being in the pool all day then salt at the bottom cutting through. Alot of children had this issue. Also the pool was freezing my 2 year old screamed because it was way to cold. Entertainment wasn't great through the day either, didn't see any one around much. The beach across the hotel is awful can't walk on it as its to Sharpe and full of rocks etc. Including in the water. There's a shop on site. and 2 spars next door. Don't sell anything like medication wise. I needed rennies as had none left no were around had anything not even a paracetamol. Luckily I took alot of bits with me. I had a good time but I could have had a better time. I doubt I'd return here, for what we paid I could have had a lot better and fun time.

We have just returned from our holiday at the Balansat Hotel. The hotel is clean, pleasant and located very close to the beach. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful and the food is very tasty. The hotel has a swimming pool for adults 16+, a swimming pool for families with children and a splash park for children. There are several restaurants and souvenir shops in close proximity to the hotel. You can also take a bus to Santa Eularia, Escanar, San Antonio and Ibiza Town for 3 euros per person (the journey takes no longer than 30 minutes). We will definitely return there.

We are recently home from our family holiday staying in the Balansat resort. We had a fantastic time, made better by all the staff within the resort. Everyone was very friendly and extremely helpful. The food made within the resort was always very nice, the only downfall was the menu was very limited for my two very fussy eaters, saying that they never went hungry 😊. We enjoyed the different entertainment each night, it was great for the younger kids also having a kids disco - helps them sleep. The swimming pool was perfect, for the bigger kids too 😂. All round a fantastic stay, resort and staff, highly recommend to families looking for a chilled and relaxing holiday abroad

Group of 9 adults, ages 17-40+. Arrived to find 3 of the 4 rooms unavailable. Booked over a year ago. One couple offered to be transported to a different hotel in a taxi. 2 others offered to all share one room together. Obviously extremely disappointed and totally put a dampener on the start of holiday. Jet2 Rep jumped straight into action, and found the hotel had overbooked, and sorted £40 compensation per adult per night without a room. Small amount for the price of the holiday but accepted and we continued with our holiday. As per previous reviews, there’s nothing to do here. The beach on the doorstep is beautiful and clean. We hired motor boats and pedalos and enjoyed the clear seas. Pools are freezing cold! Sea much warmer. Saw lots of small children cut their feet in the pool due to sand and never being cleaned. Swim shoes essential. Sun beds are beyond their shelf life! All broken, mouldy and not comfortable. Adults pool sun beds are nice but the sun doesn’t warm the pool there so almost an ice bath! That’s why it’s always empty. The ‘entertainment’ crew was one woman. She asked us once in 10 days if we wanted to join in ‘Pool Yoga’ which didn’t happen and all we saw her do the whole holiday is walk around and eat in the restaurant! No evening entertainment, unless you include ‘jukebox’ night, where they ask what song you want played and that’s it! Bar closes at 11pm, and they turn the outside lights off so we were left playing cards in the dark signify drinks! Thankfully as a large group, we made our own entertainment and we made our own holiday fun. The rooms are clean and well looked after by the cleaners. This hotel has the potential to be fabulous. Investment in entertainment, pool cleaning, sun beds, giving the chefs a menu to challenge them rather than dull, salty sloppy meat or cheese pizza slices, and turning the heater on in the pool outside of summer! Not a high star hotel, and not a place I’d recommend. It’s clean, it’s great if you want to lay in the sun and go to bed early, and take plenty of spending money to get out and about.

I think maybe some reviews on here had me expecting some wonder resort ... my expectations where high , however I didn't find it so . Don't get me wrong it's a nice hotel with good staff but was lacking in a few areas for me . Food . Really good salad bar and lots of fresh fruit, however I'm not into the salad side of things like my wife is and normally ended up with fries and a random piece of meat that I wasn't sure of its origin. Sweets were not the best normally looking like a mixed up mess of cakes .. like others I found the food cold at times and the refilling a little slow . Sunbeds . Always plenty of sunbeds so never a issue , however the condition of them was terrible , extremely dirty and mostly broken they looked like they should have been condemned a good few years back. The adult only section had brand new looking sunbeds how id have loved to use those... Rooms . The rooms were good but tired , beds firm but I slept OK on them . Over all its not a bad place but id not be returning . Just feel its needs a little money spent and it could be that little gem .

The most loveliest hotel in the most stunning location. Cannot fault any part of our family holiday here. The splash park was a hit fir my 6 year old and so was the beach which is literally outside the front of the hotel. Never stayed in San Miguel before, very quiet little place - absolutely blissful. My daughter had as much fun on the beach as she did the superb pools and facilities at the hotel Balansat. Staff were so so lovely too. Bus ride away to Ibiza town and San Antonio- which we travelled twice. We also got a taxi to playa den bossa for the day. All fabulous and flawless.

Nice hotel check in very easy 18 euros for safe hire with 6 euros back when you check out. We had a Junior Suite at the back of the hotel overlooking a farm and the hills very quiet with a morning wake up call from the farm cockrel. Hotel has a family pool and adults only pool. Entertainment was not the best and lots of young children for september so if you are looking for peace and quiet would not recommend for couples this is very much a family and small children hotel. We stayed all inclusive Food choice good breakfast is excellent and the snack bar served a good burger and chips. Drinks the usual AI selection Estrella Wine Sangria limited spirits with two cocktail choices out of a machine so not the best we have had cup sizes small too so dont expect a pint of beer the glasses are about 250ml each. Also two drinks per person at a time which is good for when the queues for the bar got busier. We ate out most evenings at a restaurant called sol i camp just turn left out of reception and follow the road along the shops just next to ibiza excursions we ate lovely meals a starter main and two drinks each came to around 50 euros. The beach is a minute stroll away to the right of the hotel beds and brollys cost 24 euros for the day. We used the taxi click app to go to cafe mambo for 40 euros each way and also went on the tourist train which runs outside of the hotel monday and fridays at 10am which cost 20 euros each and goes to san juan and portinax. Overall a nice holiday but we will deffo go adults only elsewhere next time as much as the hotel is lovely too many children for our liking and the resort is a little too quiet. We stayed in 2018 and it was much busier but hotel cartago has closed so the resort has around 2000 tourists less each week and it shows which is such a shame.
