We wanted to see the Great Sand Dunes National Park, and we wanted to stay somewhere nice. We found this B&B on the internet.
It's advertised as being built in 1909. There are 4 guest rooms, 2 with private bath. The yard is small, but it's nicely landscaped. Off-street parking is provided.
Our host, Eileen Ford, told us she has been open about a year and spent three years renovating the house. It shows. The facilities are excellent, and the furnishings are both period and comfortable. We had a fainting couch in our spacious room, but we also had Kohler faucets and a heated floor in our private bath. There were plush robes and slippers in the armoire, and soft bath sheets, as well. We slept on a pillowtop mattress with a down comforter.
Breakfast was served on authentic jadite, and Ms Ford prepared it herself. Presentation was excellent and meal was quite tasty. She had asked us for a menu the night before and we were not disappointed.
