This is my fourth visit to the China Clipper for an overnight experience. My travels take me all over the state of Colorado, and when time permits, I take a breathtaking, sometimes hair raising, drive to Ouray. Surrounded by austentatious mountains, Ouray is literally surrounded by spectacular snow covered peaks, and I can think of no other place in Colorado... more

What a beautiful place is Ouray, and what a marvelous place to stay there is China Clipper. We stopped there for only one night, touring our guests from Canada through SW Colorado. They enjoyed the Clipper, as well. We have stayed in many B&Bs, and found this one particularly appealing. The rooms were clean, very tastefully decorated (not the Aunt... more

China Clipper in Ouray is the worst B&B we have stayed in. We are an Italian couple and we visited Colorado this summer. Colorado is gorgeous and people was very friendly, except for the innkeepers of this B&B (the male above all). The atmosphere was unfriendly and the breakfast was poor. When I tried to get a second portion of... more

Exceptionally beautiful and original rooms. Sometimes B&B's go a little overboard in their decorating, but the China Clipper is done in perfect taste. Our room, the First Mate's room, was spacious, beautiful, with a heavenly comfortable king bed, two armchairs and a spectacular view of the mountains. The bathroom was luxurious, with two sinks, closets, a huge tub with jacuzzi,... more

We've stayed at a number of Bed and Breakfasts over the years and this B&B is our least favorite. The building was beautiful and the rooms were well kept, but it lacked a certain welcoming feel. Our experience at the China Clipper was comparable to staying at a hotel with a continental breakfast. The breakfast was mediocre- they didn't put... more

Even though the rooms were nice enough at the inn, the innkeepers were not. We found them rather unfriendly and unaccommodating. The breakfasts were not very creative, and if one arrived during the latter part of the breakfast period, one wouldn't have to worry about "carbs"; for the breads would be gone, and they were not replenished. As long as... more

We have just returned from a 2-week trip to Colorado where we had an opportunity to stay in a variety of Bed and Breakfasts. In general, we enjoy this type of accomodation, seek them out, and find them superior in every way to ordinary hotels. The one B & B on our trip that stood out --NOT because it was... more

Each year, my husband and I make a trip from the Denver area to Ouray, Colorado. We have stayed in a variety of places. Each had their pluses and minuses. But now we have found our home away from home. The China Clipper is a place that combines the charm and homelike feel of a B&B, with many of the... more

This was our first stay at a B&B and we had a blast!! We found the inn to be beautiful, but comfortable. The hosts, Earl and Trisha, are two people that we now call friends. They were very friendly and accomodating. We had a birthday while there, and we returned from our hike to find gourmet chocolates and a birthday... more

We had a gift certificate, which I did not see expired a few weeks before our arrival. The gift certificate expired at the end of March and I made the reservation for the fist of May. Earl, the owner, said he would not honor it, then said he would split the difference with us. We asked if the $216 for... more
