I went with my family and our 5 year old son. The breakfast was great. Cocoa, apple cider, teas, waffles, fruit, assorted bagels and breads. We stayed in the hotel and the beds were very comfortable. We also had a refridgerator and a microwave. There were drawers and a closet to put away your things. The TV worked but it... more

Loved the location, daily breakfast and and the grounds of the property... What i didn't love was that paying $155 plus taxes a night ($185) i still had to ask for clean towels every day and take out my trash a few times. Not to mention our beds got made 1 day out of 6 - and the cabin never... more

Our group of 6 and our beloved 4 year old puppy stayed a total of 11 nights in two of HCL's cabins that were wrapped in a snowy winter wonderland. The cabins were clean, functional and warm. Internet and breakfast everymorning was appreciated as much as the hot cider and coco in the afternoons. We were unable to ski 5... more

December 2008 will be the fourth year in a row that my friends and I have stayed at the High Country Lodge. It's the closest place to the mountain, at least from the Pagosa side, and has the nicest staff around. It's not the place to go if you're looking for a luxurious retreat with 400 thread count sheets, but... more

First, we booked the "cottage" cabin for 2 couples and an infant. Advertised as a 2br/2ba, there was one room that was basically a galley with two twin beds lined heel to toe and a full bath, while the other "bedroom" was really the living room. The second "bath" was 3/4 bath in the kitchen. Air circulated poorly, no A/C... more

I booked this hotel based on pictures on the Internet. We had to be in Pagosa Springs on business and the hotel turned out to be five miles out of town. I probably should have checked the location more closely. The wireless Internet service wasn't working properly and we couldn't get any cell phone service either, which isn't conducive to... more

Once again, we hit paydirt and find a wonderful place to stay. We were in a cute 1 bedroom cabin with floor heating. This is a super bonus when it is below zero outside. Our cabin also had a wood burning stove that kept us warm and toasty. The staff at this property is very friendly and very open to... more

We were snowed in a few years ago, but the kids didn't mind a bit!! They sled down the back hill and someone bilt a real iglo on the side of the hotel. Snowball fights and hot cholate. We had great, quality family time. more

This lodge is a real find! It is just a couple of miles east of Pagosa Springs and has motel rooms and cabins. For our October trip, we booked a "deluxe room with sofa" for $85, and the room was quite comfortable. Because we had a rainy morning and couldn't go hiking, having the sofa gave us some extra room... more
