When our reservation at another small Motel was given away we ended up at Aspen Leaf Lodge because they were open and pet friendly. Yes it is out dated, but it was completely clean, quiet, friendly owners and cheaper than expected at about $60/ night for a 2 queen bed room. They also had a hot tub which we didn't... More

I have stayed at the Aspen Leaf six or seven times, so I must like it. The rooms are nicer than the modest exterior would suggest--clean and well furnished. The cost--generally between $60 and $80--is very reasonable. And the couple who own the property are always friendly and helpful

Outdated but clean and I agree with previous reviews--no fragrance issues. I would have given it 5 out of 5 had the lady at the front desk been a bit friendlier upon check-in. Over-priced at $99 per night.

I was surprised how pleasant I found Aspen Leaf. Clean, roomy, good wifi, good bed, quiet and there is a micro and a fridge. And it was very nice not to choke on the offensive strong fragrances used by so many motels, hotels and B&Bs. The price ($59) seems quite competitive.

I essentially stumbled on the Aspen Leaf when my car experienced major problems on the 4th of July (moving across country with two cats), and I knew I didn't want to risk breaking down on the way to Canon City where I had a reservation for the night. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and... More

Fam. of 4 stayed in a large room over spring break of this somewhat older but very clean and good smelling Motel for $59. Owners were very friendly and kind. Rooms had plenty of towels and even some (fake) roses. The hot tub is new and wonderful. The owners even gave us some extra outlets to plug in our electric... More

A typical American mom-and-pop roadside motel. A little run down but everything works. Clean enough, comfortable enough. Attractive pricing compared to the other properties in town. If you just need a bed for the night this will do.

This was our second stay at the Aspen Leaf and we were very happy with our stay on both visits. The rooms are very large and clean and very affordable. They have a very large hot tub and nice deck area. The owners were friendly and accomodating - they also offer discount lift tickets for Monarch Ski area. We will... More

We were expecting an older hotel that was clean. Instead we got an older hotel that was pretty dirty. Not filthy, but stuff like chest-level lights in the bathroom were caked in dust. The chairs in the room were badly stained and looked nasty. It was nice having the fridge, microwave, and wireless, but that was all negated by the... More

On a cross-country camping/road trip mid-March, after days of snow-camping...we got hit with a sideways-blowing ice-storm and could barely see to drive. So we pulled over in Salida and commenced driving around looking for a cheap place to crash...all the hotels, even the run-down fleabag ones were around $70 and most of the front desk people weren't even polite.
