The Wilderness Lodge appears to have been built in the 1960s and some aspects of its structure are showing their age to disadvantage. The hotel is owned by the fancier, newer, pricier and truly slopeside Silvertree Hotel, and some of the functions of an independent hotel have been lost, such as round-the-clock front desk service on-site (you need to register... more

I had booked this room in April. At that time I paid 50% down on the room as did a lot of my co-workers. We were headed out to Snowmass for a conference. 14 days prior to my trip I received a phone call stating that if I didn't pay the remaining amount my room would be cancelled and I... more

First off, this hotel is mis-classified as 3-star. It's 2-star at best. As previous reviewers have noted, the years have not been kind and massive renovations were due around 1985. I suppose, in relative terms, it may be less outrageously overpriced than other Snowmass hotels, but you get what you pay for. It's hard to believe it's under same ownership... more

I booked a room at the Wildwood Lodge in July 2008 for three nights. It was a dump. The furniture is worn, the bed caved in in the middle. There is NO air conditioning. The room was HOT the entire time. There is no way to get a cross breeze because the only window is on the front. The TV... more

This place is a dump. Call it the econo-lodge on the hill. It is clean and the staff are friendly. The location is excellent. more

After reading other reviews, I knew what to expect when arriving at Wildwood, and I was not disappointed. Snowmass is overpriced in everything from restaurants to ski shops, so why should a mid range hotel be any different? Some thoughts: Don't expect ski in or ski out here. The lodge shares property with its better cared for brother, The Silvertree,... more

Arrived at the hotel after a long drive over the Independence pass and was in thorough need of some relaxation. Check in was fine but when we entered the room I knew that I had made a mistake. Like the others before me have stated there was a fan, and not a very good one at that, running on the... more

I stayed at the Wildwood in July of 2006 for a workshop for a week. It was ok - but given the option of spending time in the room, and spending it somewhere else, I always chose the latter option. The rooms were hot (no air conditioning in most ski hotels), but they did provide a fan without our asking... more

My husband and I arrived at the Woldwood Lodge after a long day of traveling. We paid 89.00/night for July 13-15. The desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately this could not help their rooms. The first "non-smoking" room we were assigned had clearly been smoked in numerous times and smelled awful. Plus, it was not the king bed... more

This resort had some issues; the toilet would only cut off sometimes; the stopper in the sink would get stuck in the bottom of the sink so it wouldn't drain and the biggest problem of all was that it was in the middle of the summer and they had no air conditioning. The front desk said that there were no... more
