First I would like to say that we checked out the Alpiner Lodge on this website and decided to stay there based on the majority of favorable opinions. It is now my opinion that people walk this earth with blinders on based on favorable economic conditions. The air conditioner did not work and it leaked on the carpet if you... more

Certainly not the fanciest place around, but rates are quite cheap (especially for the excellent downtown location) and the rooms are rather large. Was nice to just park the car and walk to where we wanted to go and/or use the excellent Steamboat bus service. Would be a fine place to bring a group of friends for a fun weekend... more

For the price, the Alpiner was a no-frills place in a great location. It's in the middle of town so we could park the car and walk or take the bus everywhere we wanted to go. It's pretty basic, but dollars are more important than luxury and this one fits the bill! more

Great price, great town, great skiing, most friendly people in any ski town in the West! Quaint hotel so close to everything never needed a car. Took bus to ski slopes and walked home from evening outings. Snow Loving Northerener more

Location is very convenient to restaurants, shopping, farmers market, rodeo, etc. Convenient free bus takes you anywhere in Steamboat. Staff was friendly and accommodating. But our room smelled of cigarette smoke, and we used air freshener to suppress odor (partially successful) The really big problem was the lack of on-premises night staff for security. On our last night there, the... more

I booked a non-smoking room at the Alpiner, which was described as a charming Bavarian lodge. First, the lounge consists of one chair and no other place for guests to stand or wait while their rooms are being prepared or they are trying to check-in, meet other guests, etc. Second, the area for the continental breakfast is a tiny room... more

The Alpiner is a simple hotel in Steamboat Springs with nothing fancy but it delvers a clean place to stay in downtown for whatever brings you to Steamboat. It is close to bars, restaurants and all of the fun activities downtown and the free bus to the ski area stops at the ski shop next door. I'll be back again... more

I stayed here in the summer to see the touristy little town and visit some friends. My girlfriend came with me, and we had a great time. We had some drinks at a couple places downtown, went across the street from the hotel for some awesome Mexican food, and enjoyed the beautiful mountains. We drove out North of town and... more

We stayed at the Alpiner lodge in Feb this year as part of a cheap package deal and for anyone who can get a good deal to go next season i can recommend it as a good budget option. The staff are very friendly and the rooms clean and comfortable for two. The free ski bus stops just on the... more

We stayed at the Alpiner as part of a package deal which was very cheap. The rooms are large and clean (with two double beds) if a little dated. Breakfast is included. It is in the lobby so you can't really sit down and if you were late (past 8:30pm) nearly everything had gone. All in all, a good place... more
