The hotel is recently and beautifully remodeled. The decor is consistent with the hotel's age, 100+, but neverthless thoroughly modern, functional, and convenient. I have mixed feelings on my stay at the New Sheridan. The rates were $250/night for a reguar room, but $150/night for the same type of room with no bathroom. We stayed in the New Sheridan Dec.28-Jan.2 & it was very pleasant. My fiance had stayed there once before, but my sister & I had never been. I loved the historical style of the building & while it has been restored nicely, they still had modern convieniences. I loved my stay at the New Sheridan. The breakfasts were amazing... the snacks in the late afternoon... the location... the public areas... it was great! I just didn't like the noise... and that overall the rooms were a bit smaller than I'm accustomed to. But, overall, I really enjoyed my time here. We stayed there for a ski trip in Febuary 2007. And found it to be Excellent in almost every detail for such a historic hotel. Staff was friendly and engaging, but not eager to please, except for the Italian morning waiter, who served a tasty, different, cooked breakfast every morning of our 3-day stay.
