We recently stayed in Leadville, CO and took a day trip to Aspen. On our return we stopped in at the Inn of the Black Wolf to make a stop in the bar. The restaurant dining room is quaint. We ordered at the bar, and they allowed us to sit in the rocking chairs in front of a crackling fire.... more
The new owners have driven this property into the ground. They care more about running a restaurant than an enjoyable B&B. We were there to celebrate our anniversary - got married there when it was the Nordic Lodge in 2004. Happened to be there during the Augtoberfest. What a bust. A very friendly staff who makes you feel at home from the moment you walk in the door. Excellent location in close proximity to hiking trails, Not much for hiking? I was really looking forward to eating at this quaint-looking restaurant, and was disappointed. The staff was friendly, but slow.
