I have stayed at tthis hotel off and on for 1 year. The rooms were always very clean. The staff very friendly. If I had a problem they fixed it as soon as I told them about it. Very quiet. with outstanding views of the Spanish Peaks. They keep up grading rooms and the breakfast was just right. more

We made the mistake of staying here one extremely hot summer night. The only room available had black soot on the ceiling from the corner fireplace, which of course, we didn't need to light that night because it had to have been 95 degrees in there. The air conditioner would run only for a few minutes each hour. When we... more

It looks like someone had great dreams at one time - long ago. We have spent a week and a half staying at various hotels and motels and this was the worst. I wish we could have gotten our money back, but like others, the price got our attention in the first place. Still, this place made me uneasy. What... more

We stayed at the Best Western Rambler (also remodeled) and drove past on our way to The Great Sand Dunes National Park. It looked VERY appealing and nothing like the photos. We had decided just with our drive by that we would stay there on our next visit. Anyone stayed there recently? Are all rooms remodeled? Is it complete? These... more

These other reviews turned us off on this motel, however, we called another motel and because they were full, they recommended Rio Cucharas Inn as they said it had been remodeled and looked really nice. We decided to try it and were pleasantly surprised! The manager was very friendly, well dressed and accommodating to our needs! We asked to see... more

The carpet was dirty, had an odor. The bathroom floor was dirty, the bedding did not feel clean, the light over the door on the outside stayed on all night, to much light for the indside of the room. The faucets on the sink were dirty. We did not use the shower. Could not get only 6 tv stations and... more

My campanion and I stayed at the Rio for 3 nights. we were there to visit family. We enjoyed our stay there even though we were aware that they had been closed for awhile until it was bought about a year ago. the Managers there were very friendly and helpful. They had just replace all the furniture in the rooms... more

We stayed 3 nites in early August, we were well aware that the property had been closed for about a year and new owners with money were in the process of bringing the motel back to it's original quiantness, we really enjoyed the star filled sky in the evening and the quiet. Although we never used the pool facilities they... more
