Beautiful hotel. Its a bit old but everything was neat and clean. Check-in is not express as you have to get the keys to the condo from the lockers but check-out was just an text message away. Hotel doesn't have a restaurant or minimart but there are more than enough restaurants in winter park. The hotel is right in the middle of the winter park village. There are ski lockers, a hot tub and an underground parking. The condo was large and very conformable. Had a small balcony with an amazing view of the village. Had all the amenities and kitchenet. Bed was large and comfortable. Bathroom was also large but the shower pressure was too much. Sound proofing was great! Other than that everything was great and we enjoyed our stay.

Response from Zephyr Homeowner HOA, Owner at Zephyr Mountain Lodge
Responded 29 Jan 2024
Dear Haree,   Thank you for taking the time to share comments on your stay at the Zephyr Mountain Lodge with other travelers. We note that it is a lodge, not a hotel as each condo is individually owned, therefore rental company, size, decor, upgrades and views can vary. We would also note that Doc's Resaurant, the Sundog Taproom, and Trail's End market are all in the Riverside building of Zephyr accessible from the plaza. We are happy to hear you enjoyed your stay, and hope you'll come back again and again!  - The Zephyr Mountain Lodge HOA Board

Great location. Right next to the gondola. Great ski in and ski out. Kitchen contents minimal. Overly expensive for condition of property. Had to pay extra to park at the facility. I paid $360 deposit on check in “that you get back within 6 weeks of your stay.”- Deposit never received, despite leaving condo in better condition than when we arrived. I contacted Winter Park Lodging, whom I booked with and no response. First night, we literally had NO heat- like sleeping in a barn. No discount or refund offered. Was given a space heater for the rest of the week. One of two elevators for the building was broken for two solid days- Friday and Saturday during Spring Break season… Overall, we enjoyed the skiing, but really get like we had been taken advantage of financially and the service we received when reporting issues was poor. Front desk blames HOA, HOA blames reservations. Get your act together, Zephyr!

Response from Zephyr Homeowner HOA, Owner at Zephyr Mountain Lodge
Responded 19 Jan 2024
Dear alanbL800CK, Thank you for taking the time to let us know about the issues you had at the Zephyr Mountain Lodge. We are sorry to hear that you felt financially taken advantage of. As each condo is individually owned, each owner selects the rental management company they want to have rent out their unit. When you book, you have a choice from whom you rent and if that business transaction was unsatisfactory, it is solely the rental company's responsibility. You mentioned that you worked with Winter Park Lodging; many owners have used them satifactorily over many years, but there are many alternative companies through whom you can book Zephyr condos. You also mentioned the front desk, but they are associated with WP Resort Lodging (a division of the ski area), who does not represent the company you say you rented from. The HOA is responsible for the heat in the building and we endeavor to ensure that every condo is properly heated and rental companies normally do not rent units with heating issues. The HOA has nothing whatsoever to do with reservations or billing. The Zephyr Mountain Lodge Homeowners Association takes great pride in the building, and wants it to remain the favorite place to stay for visitors to Winter Park.   - The Zephyr Mountain Lodge HOA Board

We stayed in a two bedroom (Unit 1315) in the Slopeside building. Excellent in every way. Unit was updated and comfortable. Over looked the gondola. Ski lockers were close to the trail so easy ski in and out. There were 5 decent places to eat within a very short walk. We only drove out once to eat. Would definitely return.

Nice enough, but far from fancy. It was (mostly) clean and modern, but a few small things could have been better, given what we paid: (1) They included humidifiers (important, given the climate), but they were dirty. (2) The kitchen was completely bare bones. Nothing but single serving salt, pepper, and sugar. Dishes and cooking utensils were about as minimalist and cheap as possible. (3) The building tended to run out of hot water in the late afternoon when people came off the mountain. (4) Check out time is EARLY (10 AM) if you are planning to ski the last day, with no shower / changing facilities available once you check out. (5) The bed was saggy. (6) Exterior lighting was really bright and could not be blocked out inside the room. (7) Oddly designed rooms. (eg, TV in bedroom was at an angle relative to bed.) On the plus side: (1) It truly is ski in / ski out. (2) WIfi is strong. (3) COnvenient ski lockers

I spent a week here with my ski club. We all had 2 BR/2 BA condos that were quite similar but, since the condos are independently owned, there were definitely some differences. Condos are spread across two buildings: Slopeside and Riverside. The Slopeside building is true ski-in/ski-out. The Riverside building requires a short walk across the plaza to reach the gondola. The two buildings are joined by an underground parking garage. While both buildings have their own hot tubs and self-serve laundry facilities, only Riverside has a small gym. Both buildings also have a ski locker room that's large enough for both skis/boards as well as boots. The room key will work on the ski locker. Our condo was on the top floor of the Slopeside building. Condos 1700-1702 are a bit larger (not sure if there are corresponding larger condos at the other end of the floor) as there is no unit on the other side of the hall. The views in these condos all face away from the ski hill. The 2BR units I visited all seemed to have the same layout; the difference was the square footage of each room. Upon entry there's a hook for coats and a place for boots just inside the door. Many units had a bench there as well. On the other side was the kitchen. It's efficient but feels crowded with more than one person standing in it. Our unit could have used a few more place settings so we didn't have to run the dishwasher as often. Going further into the room, the living area with a gas fireplace and the sofa was just past the kitchen. On the kitchen side was a door to the master bedroom and on the other was a door to the second bedroom and another door to the bathroom. The kitchen has a narrow bar-type counter and in many units this was the only type of "table" available. One unit I visited did have a drop-leaf table tucked against that counter but it also interrupted the flow of walking into the master bedroom. Our larger unit had what was essentially a picnic table with chairs though it did have a bench on the side nearest the kitchen which helped create a larger walkway into the master bedroom. The larger units have a balcony that extends from in front of one bedroom, across the living room and in front of the other bedroom. In the smaller units the balcony is only in front of the second bedroom, which cuts into its square footage. In the larger units the master bedroom was a very nice size and had its own en suite bathroom. One weird thing about that bathroom in our unit was that the light switch only controlled the light over the sink. The only light over the toilet & shower/tub was the heat lamp! The second bedroom in the larger units were also a good size. We had a six-drawer cabinet and a very small closet with 6 hangers. The owners closet was also in this room. When the rooms are renovated it would be good to consider adding more electrical outlets. The outlet nearest my side of the bed was occupied with a lamp and the alarm clock. Fortunately I'd brought an extension cord with multiple outlets on it. My roommate's nearest outlet was actually behind the bed so she used one across from the foot of her bed but that meant unplugging the floor lamp. The hall bath is much smaller than the master bath but was generally fine. I did find it was a rather tall step into the tub. Aveeno hair and body products in very small containers were provided. If you have long or thick hair and are staying for any length of time you're going to need more. Extra hooks/towel racks would be greatly appreciated in the second bath. There are two towel racks and they're initially loaded up with four towels and four washcloths. That's great, but once you use a wash cloth where is it supposed to hang? I'd suggest adding little hooks (like those with Command Strips) inside the shower area. Those would be great not only for wash cloths but also to hang wet swim suits. The provided hair dryer is only about 1500 watts so if you have long or thick hair you may want to bring your own. All the toilet seats seemed very small. They were the round shape vs the oval shape. May be fine for little kids but as we age and start to "spread" those bigger seats are a lot more practical! The master bedroom had a king bed and the second bedroom had a split king; that is, the king could be split into twins which is what we did. The sofa in our unit was also a sleeper so theoretically 6 people could stay here but it would be quite crowded. Our condo was on the top floor and it was warm all the time. We looked at the thermostat and it was set as low as it would go so all the heat was coming from the floors below. In our second bedroom we even had a foot-level window opened for our entire stay and we were still very warm at night. One gripe several of us had was the wi-fi. While it was free, sometimes it would drop for no apparent reason, even as you're using it. It was not really an issue while streaming or on a Zoom call but if you were, say, reading a web page and then went to the next page, the connection may have been lost in the meantime. When I left the condo and came back my phone never automatically reconnected although that's not an issue I have other places. In that case we usually just had to hit the 'Sign in' button again but if it dropped while we were using it we often had to turn off the wi-fi on our devices and turn it back on, which was frustrating. As far as I'm aware this is the only ski-in/ski-out property in Winter Park. I would certainly stay here again for the convenience and it generally met our needs.

Stayed in unit 1304. Was very weird since there were no lights other than lamps in the bedroom and no fan in the bathroom. We also booked and we’re under the impression that this was a pet free building but we’re unexpectedly greeted by barking dogs to which the company did nothing about and offered no resolution. Will not be staying here again.

Dear Chelsey B, Thank you for taking the time to let us know about the issues you had at the Zephyr Mountain Lodge. We are sorry you found the lighting to be inadequate and ask that you pass this on to the rental management company or owner you booked the condo through so that they can address your concerns and improve the condo for future guests.  All bathrooms in Zephyr have a building air exhaust that always runs so no fan is needed. Each condo is individually owned, and owners are allowed pets, guests are not. Usually our owners are very good about controlling pets, if you have any idea which unit # caused this infraction, again, please advise. When you accept this is a 3 Star property, this is an ok experience for the rate. It is rather remarkable that Winter Park apparently lacks all the other amenities of other resorts because the skiing and slopes are excellent. The lifts and trails are perfect, and coaching staff all first rate. Be forewarned that if you come to this resort after around 6, your options for food and booze are entirely limited or totally unavailable. I just cannot understand why the resort wouldn’t make reasonable accommodations for weary travelers ....much less anything basic like a freaking bottle of water for crying out loud. We checked several rooms and all were similarly mediocre. Now granted we were at the tail end of the season and it felt like everyone and everything was just done. All that said I would stay again...if the rate was cheap enough.

Dear saintpetermatt, Thank you for taking the time to review Zephyr Mountain Lodge. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the convenience of the location and the quality of our ski area. It is true that many shops and restaurants were closed due to the pandemic and your end of the season visit. All shops were back open for the summer season and we anticipate that the resort will even open one or two new restaurants for the 21/22 season. There is a shop on the ground floor that sells bottled water, but personally I find the mountain tap water is excellent! We just go back and all I can say is location, location, location. It was great being right next to the Gondola so we could just walk out, put on our skis and ski down to the lift line. We loved having the ski lockers on the 2nd floor. How wonderful to just put your boots and skis in the locker and walk up to the room for a quick lunch or a short, warm break. And to walk out to the village at the bottom of the mountain was great as well. Super fantastic. Unit 1601 was exactly as described and pictured. Love the cozy fireplace while lying on the couch watching the snow fall. The kitchen was well stocked. Everything was super clean. There as a great balcony with a couple of chairs to sit and watch skiers go by, Communication with the management company was all via text which worked out great. They were super communicative before, during and after. Great service! If going back to Winter Park, we would stay there again for sure!

I'll start with the positives: 1. Perfect location 2. The unit itself (2319) was acceptable and we really enjoyed the fireplace. 3. Smooth check-in process and prompt responses from the owner on all questions Unfortunately the list of positives ends there. I was very disappointed in the lack of amenities offered. No room service (even garbage pick or old towel removal). I was incredibly upset about the closure of fitness rooms and hot tubs. I was fully aware of this before coming on the trip, but upon arriving and seeing how limited other activities or dining was available at the base, I wish the HOA would have put more of an effort in to open these safely. Simply setting reservations would have done the trick.Other resorts and hotels managed to do this, I do not know why Zephyr couldn't figure it out. And finally, the thing that made me incredibly irate and is why I would never stay again, is the parking costs. It was advertised on the website that the parking was $18/day and I was prepared for that. I was NOT prepared for the INSANE rules that were associated with coming and going. The price was always more than expected when we left and never seemed to align the the "rules" that were complicated in and of itself. The fact that you pay each time you come and go is unheard of! The base village only has so many offerings and you can't walk into town so it's IMPOSSIBLE to not have to leave. I can't express enough how upset I was and felt taken advantage of and misled we were with the parking cost.

Having traveled around the globe I had high expectations for this place. Unfortunately, while it was nice and perfectly located, the quality was subpar. We had loosely fitting electrical sockets, burned out light bulbs, no extra linen (given we had a party of four) and the sofa bed was designed by a torture freak (boys felt better sleeping on the floor). The staff was nice but our few attempts at asking for directions was extremely frustrating. Google proved to be much more reliable. Wifi was ok but up and down our whole stay. You cannot beat it for proximity though as you can crawl out onto the slopes and into stores in minutes.
