We chose this HoJo as it was a budget motel in a location central for CT, RI & MA, and the rate we paid online was excellent. No issues with cleanliness, but reception staff were not at all helpful with any enquiries, they just didn't want to know. Breakfast area was just a converted room with no TV and a... more

I arrived there with the lowest expectations yet, since the reviews in here indicate the hotel would be smelly or in bad shape. It was a different actual experience all around. The guy running the front desk was friendly and accomodated my request to fix my mistake of having booked a smokers room. The room itself was clean, there was... more

We stayed at the Howard Johnson based on price and were unimpressed. The lobby is decently clean but once you go upstairs it smelled odd and the odor was persistent throughout our stay. I felt safe enough but I could see a family with children being very uncomfortable. The staff was nice enough but there is an adult business next... more

The Motel (not hotel) is alone next to a plaza containing a Pawn shop, liquor store, adult book/movie store and a Bar. That's all. Nothing else. The clerk was polite, but that didn't explain the powerful and persistent odor throughout the building. The carpet was filthy, in and out of the room. The A/C ran all night and never got... more

it was disgusting, dirty, the room was just horrible, I picked this hotel because it got good review, the lobby, hallway, front area, parking lot were clean and neat then you opened up the door to your room and it was just gross . . . the bright side was it had no bed bugs (thank God) and no one... more

Date: Jan 9, 2007 I had a very nice room for a really great price. The front desk was helpful, bathroom was clean, heating system worked great, bed was comfortable, and place was quiet. My room had a fridge and microwave, which was nice. The continental breakfast was good. No fresh fruit but plenty of cereal, bagel, donuts, and beverages.... more

My initial impression of the hotel (from the lobby and the hot-pink walls in the hallways) was that it was a little shabby. There wasn't an elevator and we had to lug our bags up the steps. The hotel wasn't near any other hotels, but seemed to be in a safe enough location. Once we got in our room, things... more

This place is terrible if you actually want to sleep. The walls are paper thin and the street is noisy. I had a front room, and a taxi came by at about 2:00 a.m. and just sat outside and beeped its horn. Later, I was again woken up by two men talking (not shouting). I'm not sure where they were... more

My mother and I stayed here for a couple of nights a couple of months ago. We come to the area a lot, and have stayed at some really nice places. I chose HoJo because it had the best price at the time. And boy, am I glad I did. Although I forgot to request a handicap room, as my... more

We stayed here twice in August 04, once on the way to Maine, and once on the way back. Got a great rate on hojo, better than AAA rate. Had non-smoking home office room w/king bed. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Well kept for an older motel. Within walking distance to 2 restaurants-Sneekers Cafe was excellent-don't let it's... more
