First of all I want to say that the ONLY thing I found good about this hotel was the wonderful staff!! It seems that corporate HQ is most likely skimping on building maintenance and staffing in order to make a buck in this slower economy. Hey, tough times for a major corporation is not my problem. When I pay a... more

Another reviewer indicates the banging pipes (in our case during the middle of the night) were going to be looked at - turns out, this is to be expected, according to one staff person "It happens when the pipes expand and contract in this old building, we can't help when people take their showers". Then there was the midnight fire... more

I travel to Hartford on business a couple times of year and have stayed at the Goodwin, Marriott's and the Hilton Hartford twice. Being a Hilton Honors member, I was given the upper floors which usually is a perk. However, at the Hilton Hartford, be aware that if your room faces West you will have the Interstate 84 (Yankee highway)... more

First, it is the best location if you are attending a show / game / event at the XL Center (Hartford Civic Center). This Hilton is an older property that was renovated. Its looking fine but nothing fancy. We had two rooms and both were pretty small in size but very clean. The furniture is decent but like I said,... more

During 5 day stay my room was changed twice: first because the internet did not work (which was $9.95 per day); and second because the air conditioner was broken. The room I finally settled into had a view of the highway and a stained carpet and chair. more

If you want to spend money on a hotel and be nickeld and dimed to death for access to internet and other services that hotels all around now include as part of your room accommodation then this is the place for you...lobby and rooms are clean but depressing.....no wide choices of really nice places to eat nearby, so make sure... more

The Hilton staff was generally nice, but ineffective at correcting problems. My daughter got in the shower and it sounded like someone was in there with a jackhammer. She came out wondering what was wrong! The front desk said someone would LOOK INTO IT. The next morning some other guest in another room close by took a shower at 6:00... more

Had to travel for business and company chose the location. Parking was at a discounted rate for my company, but at $10 a day, it is still overpriced. Hartford is not a large enough city that they need to charge for parking for guests. Check-in was easy, and they held $80 on my debit card for incidentals. Positive notes: The... more

My company's customer picked and paid for the lodging, and they get a special rate. I would have chosen a Hampton Inn. Any Hampton Inn is better than the Hilton in so many ways. Parking at Hampton Inn is typically free. At the Hilton here it is $18/day. Internet at the Hampton Inn is free. At the Hilton here it... more
